  1. I dip a base coat of white Badger AB paint.
  2. Or Tackle Warehouse
  3. I like stencils too but I can still screw up a bait from one side to the other. Why won't createx work for hand painting? If the paint isn't dark enough then use a white undercoat.
  4. Give it time and they will be a $1.50 each. It isn't worth the investment or the effort IMO.

    ul lure

That is a great color combo...

    Bleeder

I pretty much screwed this one up but the bleeding gill fade was right.
  7. As Blazt said; painters [sellers] really need to drop the cash for a quality SLR camera. The right camera can even let an idiot like me take decent photos. If your selling lures I promise it will pay for itself in no time. A light tent helps a lot too.
  8. Here is another solution: put it in the garbage and use 2-ton. I never could get etex to work for me. And I had nearly every one of those problems you mentioned. I honestly don't know how some guys get it to work.
  9. All great advice mentioned. I use the 2-ton in the syringe type applicator. I've notice when I get close to empty on the syringe I have more issues. I'm not sure as the end gets more buggered up the exposure to air creates a problem and particles of dust collect on the [tip] cap. I've also noticed if I brush too hard while applying the epoxy it will make it thin enough in certain spots to separate while on the wheel. Sometimes the smallest little paint web or bristle will create a pothole in the finish. But generally when I have a problem I didn't mix it well enough.

    Arapaima

    Those are just cool!!
  11. I dont remember his name but the TU member from Europe who makes all the glider baits paints some really cool eyes using the stickers. You can watch how he does it on You Tube. I tried it on a pike bait and it works.
  12. I guess each person had there own variation of rootbeer but I mix trans light brown with a little yellow and a drop or so of trans violet. But I'm usually shooting it over a orange chartreuse color on craw baits.
  13. The ones your seeing on Ebay are Netcraft blanks.
  14. I like that color combo!!

    7" Tru Tungsten

    I like it!!!! Nice work.....
  16. Wood and resin baits have these tiny little holes on the surface of the bait that trap air. Bubbles pop up when the air is trying to rise to the surface so to speak. I think Vodka and Bob nailed it.
  17. Wait a minute..... So what your saying is all the RC/MB knock-offs are really one of kind because they are made with different plastic and rattle chambers You can't justifiably argue it both ways. If it is shaped alike and made of wood then it is a knock-off by TU lure standards. Which I find ironic when this entire website is based on making a bait cheaper or simply copying an orginial. Look in the mirror folks. If you say you havent copied something or someone your not a very honest person. I will tell you right now I will copy anything I think is cool. I will change it slightly to be more cool but at least I openly admit it. And I could care less if someone copies me. Why do ya'll care anyway. If ya don't like them don't buy them. Maybe the individual seller thinks they are better than the original. He is entitled to his opinion just like you and I. If they keep selling finished baits at $5ea they wont be around long. Besides I don't think many people who offered an opinion this topic own or have ever thrown a real MB Ito jerkbait. It is like giving an opinion on a vehicle you have never owned.
  18. This has been duscussed multiple times on TU. Get rid of the primer. Use a waterbased color for a primer. It seems every person has the same issue when they use rattle can paint for a primer and then apply WB paints over it.
