  1. I just painted some and dipped the finish product in the old Dick Nite formula. Turned out perfect. Might want to consider Glisten PC for this application. It was made to go over metal products.

It isn't really that hard. I discovered most of my stuff purely by accident or trying to copying others work. Maybe adding my own little twist to someone elses idea. As much as people dog on copying other painters work it is how we learn. Copy all my stuff you want. Heck I stole most of it from someone else anyway, who probably stole it from another. I will even tell you how to do it if you want to know.

  6. What Bob is saying is get rid of the varnish and don't use rattle can white as a primer. Use Devcon 2 ton in place of the varnish.
  7. I actually think it looks pretty good. Any comment I could make would be more of a personal taste type of thing.

    sweet paint dude!!
  9. I've tried Glisten PC and it goes on with ease and self levels w/o turning. No storage issues and it comes in different cans. My experience is; one coat works pretty good but I like a more glossy look [i even dip twice with DN]. I tried multiple coats and it went on smooth and looked great but began to flake off after sitting for some time. However it only flaked off to the orginial coat. So if your satisfied with one coat then it works good. BTW: I only brushed it on. I never tried dipping or spraying Glisten.
  10. I've only painted the 1/2oz version and I used 3/8" eyes. I'm not sure if the heavier baits have bigger eyes.
  11. any foiled bait passes in my book!! i'm simply too lazy to do it.
  12. Alumilite White sinks like a rock. You will need some micro balloons.

This is a popular tube color out west. I should give credit to the person I stole the stencil from. I haven't cleared it yet but it should turn out pretty nice.

  18. You still need to use some blast weight in a resin bait. Sometimes the hooks and hangers are enough balast, but usually a little weight is required to get the proper action. I have mixed straight resin and poured the lower third of the bait and then mixed resin with balloons to pour the upper 2/3rds of the bait. It works pretty good for a large topwater bait, but you must do it quickly so the two halfs adhere together and you don't get a large seam.
