  1. Heres a Sebile Magic Swimmer, the 165mm size..I had a request to do this in my Brown Trout pattern.. This guy likes 'em to be brown backed, not green, so this is what he got.. Worked out good as he caught a 39" Pike in Swedish waters on this pattern.. JP

    4 Swimbaits

This is a group of 4 colors I did on some swimbaits.. Actually these were supposed to be wakebaits but I added some belly weight to make them into excellent shallow swimmers with awesome action..(drilled a small hole in the belly, added a ball bearing or two) JP Myers

  16. I tried to load this as a set but it didnt work out for some reason.. But this is the twin to the one I posted earlier.. +6" wakebait plastic lure, asymetrical eyes, will have 1/0 hooks very soon...I have 4 more of these to paint.. 2 of each, in Rainbow Trout and either Rocky Mtn Trout or Logperch.. 6" Brown Trout Wakebait

Thanks for the comments.. No, its not carved, geez, I wish I could carve..haha.. This is a plastic lure for sure.. It would make an awesome swimmer if it were about 1/4"- 3/8" narrower.. As is, its a fine wake bait, I definitely dig the struggling baitfish appearance it has while jerking it back & forth with pauses.. John
  18. This is a 6" wakebait I just finished for a pike fisherman over in Budapest Hungary.. This is in brown trout or at least a reasonable facsimile of it... Its a floater, leaves a huge wake running slow across the surface.. In swimtesting, I did the "Z" pattern jerks with it & it did a great wounded baitfish routine, looked plenty enticing as an injured fish struggling on the surface.. John
  19. As you said, you're more than happy with Janns so stick with what works for you for sure.. But Testors has a good selection of Pearl enamels plus a clear pearl that can pearlize any color you spray it over.. I usually coat my entire lure with it prior to epoxy coating.. You can spray enamel over dry lacquer..Testors Pactra Racing Finish Pearl White Clear is what the label says.. I spray alot of lacquers too, Spaz Stik paints.. You might check his site & see if he stocks Pearls.. Spaz Stik is airbrush ready as they're much thinner than enamel & waterbase paints right from the get go..But I've never tried Janns stuff, it might be for jig painting possibly?.. I've never had to thin any lacquers that I've purchased as of yet.. Like Spoopa said, turn up the PSI, should help out quite a bit..Or try adding a few drops of lacquer thinner.. John
  20. Thanks for all the positive comments, I really appreciate it.. Now, if only Tater Hog would drop in & send me a PM as to how he applies the flourescent like blue paint to mark the face/gill areas I could really spruce these up!.. haha..Thanks again, much appreciated, John
  21. Hi Mark, thanks for the comment.. Yes well it had an hook eye behind the anal & one strangely located behind the dorsal too.. I snipped them both off & patched over them w/epoxy prior to painting.. Its a small 3.5"-4" bait I saw no reason for a tail hook.. Might miss a nibbler once in awhile but the Biggin's will swallow this whole or smack the head anyway.. But you're correct, I had been fishing & painting BBZ-1's & figured one hook was plenty enough.. Having both the fast sink & slow version Reaction Strikes, I do think the 2nd hook makes the slow sink swim better.. This one is a fast sink model & loosing the rear hook made no difference..It still sits on its belly when it settles to the bottom too unlike the Spro which falls over on its side, from my experiences anyway.. Thanks again, John
  22. A group of 23g Reaction Strike Revolution 4" Bluegill swimbaits I painted this week..Airbrushed glass eyes to set them off nicely..Gamakatsu hooks, epoxy coated.. I removed 2 hook eyes at the rear of body & went with just the one belly hook.. Excellent swim action..
