3 PIKIE LURES, 6"X 1 & 1/8" DIAM.. THRU-WIRED, EPOXY COATED -
Great lure, I gave it 5 Stars.. Is it wood or a hard plastic body you poured by mold yourself?.. Looks like wood grain on the sides.. Just curious.. Reminds me of the 22nd Century Triple Trout, especially w/the tail.. Sure would like to find someone on here capable of making tails like that !.. Sweet work.. John -

Jay, they're about 1.5" belly to backbone and 2.5" nose to tail..Use a photo as others have stated for a pattern,, Cut a blank from 5/8" stock, round over the belly leaving it a bit "plump" , round the backbone over at about 1/2" and you'll be real close in size.. I make about 40-50 Punkinseeds a year, sell to collectors.. If you want vintage appeal, just rob an old Heddon River Runt or Heddon Midget Digit lure of its lip & hook hangers as they're the same hardware.. Attached pic below shows one I made for myself & painted in a Largemouth Bass pattern.. John~

They either sold or I used them for kindling as I had to fire up the stove in the shop on this cool weekend!..LoL -
If you dont mind switching to an enamel base, the pearl enamels work sweet in airbrushes.. Never had any troubles.. I spray pearl enamels almost daily.. Testors also has a pearl white that I spray over my entire lures as a topcoat prior to epoxy.. Its called pearl white but is so transparent it can be sprayed to make a pearl effect over any non-pearl color..In this way all my colors are pearlized, even makes black look great..Just a thought.. Thanks Guys, yeah KC, my favorite lure for sure is the wood Pikie, cant beat it.. I use the Pikies in 4" & 7" and a small 2" Peanut lure I make as well.. Its a Pikie head,no tail & short body, looks like a Dingbat body more or less.. I just finished turning, sealing & basecoating 40 pikies--Gonna have a painting frenzy this weekend..
