Borderbasser, the Apple Barrel paint is basic crafters paint.. Try something of a higher quality like Createx or House of Kolors, your airbrush will love you for it.. I use enamels on my lures but have used Createx & House of Kolors for T-shirts and they will meet your needs far better than Apple Barrel..Enjoy the airbrush painting, loads of fun for everyone~ John..

Hi Dog, I use enamels for all my lures, airbrushing Model Master & Boyd enamels.. Devcon 2T 30min epoxy has no ill effects to the enamels.. It wont lift or wrinkle the paint.. If you want to sign your name or whatever to the bait, an ultra fine point Sharpie works good with the enamel paint & DT2 topcoat..I apply DT2 with my fingers covered with surgical gloves & rotate lure for 30mins then hang it up overnight.. Clemmy, BamaBass' Iwata trick is right on.. But as far as the Aztek goes... I use the Aztek but not a cheapie.. I use the A7778 metal body series.. I had no luck w/their Splatter nozzle tho.. I just take the medium nozzle(turqoise), turn the air up to 30psi, dip the tip of nozzle in a paint cup then hit the trigger.. Works great.. Altho the best splatter finishes Ive ever done were by simply putting paint on a tooth brush then using my finger to spread the brush hairs back & let it fling onto the lure.. Gives a nice eradic splatter that can be controlled with just a little practice.. Stiff toothbrush that is.. John~

Well Dean I hope my local Wally's dont keep raising the price on me.. All I know is, their price of $1.39 was like that for over 6 months until I started empting the shelves once a month then the price starting going up..I have a luremaking buddy up in Michigan who pays $4.95 a syringe for D2T at his local Walmart.. I see BobP just posted a link for the 9oz kits.. I'll check that out too..

I use the Devcon2Ton, & have only located it locally at Walmart also.. Its $1.97 per syringe at my local Wally store.. Heres a helpful hint tho: dont buy all they have!..haha.. I started buying out the rack every 3 weeks or so, as I use alot.. 6-8 syringes at a time.. I started doin it in Mar, at a price of $1.39 per syringe, they jacked the price up about $0.20 per month, now its $1.97.. I swear Im the only one buying too!..LoL.. I now just buy 2-3 syringes a week, & price has stabilized.. www.dickblick.com Thats Dick Blick if the link doesnt show up or work.. They have the Envirotex Lite, its a chain art supply store.. I believe theres another Envirotex also, a High Build or something its called... From what I hear it takes a considerably longer time to cure than D2T but more flexible..Tho dont quote me on that.. Prices there are $7.95 for 8oz kit, $14.30 for 16oz, and $22.46 for 32oz at Blicks.. John~

Thats a real beautiful lure.. Paint choices blended in nicely with the foil.. I had the same problems with forstners tearing up the eye sockets.. I dont have near your experience with foiling, but I found a simple solution that has worked great for me.. When I foil a lure, I foil right over the pre-drilled eye socket, use the exacto to cut an "X" into the socket, push the foil into the socket & use exacto handle to smooth the foil edges back into the eye socket.. Puts a clean, smooth edge to the socket.. I drill my sockets 1mm larger than eye diam.. Great looking lure~ John.. -

I dont know if this will do ya any good or not...A guy sells mirror sticky rolls, vinyl based with reflective chrome mirror facing on ebay.. In auction details it states he can make into stickers for Buyers also.. The Buy It Now auction is for a 15"x3' roll.. I believe its used for automotive body graphics/detailing & what not..You would have to contact him to see what the thickness/guage is as its not stated in the auction details, least not that I could see...The store owners ID is "aanddautoparts" so just search his nic if interested.. You might try searching hobby store inventories too as they use sticky backed mirror sheeting to make mirrors for their model vehicles.. John~
