  1. Here is another option. http://www.shawncollinscustoms.com/index.html Charlie
  2. Definitely have your labels done professionally. You can have vinyl labels made for 3-5 cents each. Also look at In-Pact Poly Products for your laminated bags. They have a larger selection of laminated bags. They will also do preprinted but your going to have to buy 50,000 bags to get them printed. We made the switch to laminated earlier this year and they are well worth the extra money. Charlie
  3. His name is Fred Roberts in Trenton, KY. The number I've got is 270-466-6466. Charlie
  4. I didn't want to bust your bubble but normal ziplock bags are fine for short term storage if there are no oils or scents on the baits. Glad I could help. Charlie
  5. I don't know where your located but there is a guy near Hopkinsville, KY that does an excellent job. His name is Fred Roberts. If interested let me know and I'll get you his phone number. Charlie
  6. Lami-Poly are not the same as laminated bags. Check out the link below for laminated bags. Poly bags are typically just heavier/thicker version of your everyday sandwhich bags. They have a wider seal all around the bag and hold scents and oils better than poly bags. http://www.inpactpoly.com/fishingtackleluresbags.html Charlie
  7. Why doesn't everyone just post the links of the suppliers they use in their businesses? This would give everyone the opportunity to shop around for materials needed. Charlie
  8. You guys need to check out papermart on the web. You can get 1000 4 mil bags for less than $30. 4mil bags are fine but they are not as good as the laminated bags. We use to use that standard ziplock style in 4 mil but they do not maintain as well as the laminated. Also if you use any type of labels on your bags they will stick better to laminated. Charlie

  10. From what I've seen Lurecraft is extremely high, about $30 + higher per 1000 than the others out there. I've looked at Johnson Bag and there a little better but still about $20 higher. The cheapest I've found so far has been Impact Poly Products. They have the 6 1/2" x 5 laminated for $178 per 2000 and the 11 1/2" x 5" laminated for $177 per 1000. Does anyone else have any better providers for these bags? Thanks, Charlie
  11. I'm using a fluid bed and only making a short dip so I don't know how I'm getting on too much paint. This is not a problem on all the heads I'm painting maybe only 1 in 25 will have it. I'd rather find a solution to hanging while baking that resolves this issue. Charlie
  12. So I'm new to the powder painting and I'm wondering how you guys hang your jigs when baking them. I've been hanging by the hooks but I due to excess paint or whatever reason some will form a drip on the end of the head when hanging this way. What or how do you guys hang your jigs when baking? I was thinking of maybe a paper clip ran through the eye of the jig and then the excess would just run down the hook. Thanks, Charlie
  13. I use Eagle Claw 4/0 570's. I think thats the right number. I had to modify my mold to accept a hook that big but it works great now. Charlie
  14. No I haven't received the letter because I don't make them. They aren't trying to patent they do have the patent. You can check the patent and trademark office for the details of the patent. The name portion is owned by "Chatter Buzz" who has sold the name rights to Rad Lures which can stop anyone from using the word "Chatter". I'm not trying to get into an argument about this with anyone I was just passing on my opinion. I've been through the patent and trademark thing with our baits and have both. So take it for what it is worth. Charlie
  15. If they've got the patent and trademark on it, it doesn't matter what you call them. The trademark would be for the name and the patent would be the design. Even if someone makes a similar bait that is 10% different Rad can push the issue and force you to court to prove the difference unless you have a patent on your bait. Thats the purpose of the patent to protect the designer. If yours is different and want to keep producing it then I would get a patent on it as well. This is just the nature of the business. You don't have to be the first to develope a bait you just have to be the first to patent it. Now 10 years from now when the patent expires if Rad doesn't renew then you can do what you wish at that point. Charlie
  16. Guys this has been about a year in the works. I know for a fact now that they have the patent and name rights to "Chatter". The gentleman that used to own "Chatter Buzz" sold his company to a friend of Rad Lures and he has sold them the name rights. This was all done to go after and stop all the knock offs of their baits. A couple of years ago they applied for patent and trademark but was denied because it was to close to "Chatter Buzz". So when they got the name rights they can go after everyone. I'd be very careful when pushing these guys because they have the documentation on their side now. I have nothing to do with Rad Lures but do still talk to the owner and previous owner of "Chatter Buzz". Charlie
  17. Hopefully if things go well probably around 250 per week. Charlie
  18. Thanks for all the helpful tips and I'll try them out. Would it be beneficial to buy a fluid bed? Charlie
  19. The directions on the Pro-Tec bottle said 20 minutes for 350. Is that too much? What should I turn it down too? Thanks, Charlie
  20. So I'm new to powderpainting and when I baked my first bunch the paint dripped and tried to drip and left the heads with bubbles. What can I do to prevent this? What has caused it? Thanks for any and all help. Charlie
