  1. Making them is fun fishing them is even better. Everywhere I have used them they have produced, I get quite a few people willing to pay a bit more for them these days, Hopefully with spring not too far away, I will have a bunch of new ones
  2. to reduce glare and light taking images inside, take some toilet paper and cover your flash on the camera, but leave the flash on. It dulls it enough to reduce the glare and helps make for some very nice pictures, see some of my images in the gallery
  3. Hey everyone, getting some more time now. Just dropping by to say hi, see most of you guys have been busy making baits.. I'm freed up some now So I should be able to start posting some stuff. I have some great new swirls and stuff I have been messing with, will be pouring today.. so whats new? what's everyone up to these days?
  4. Try Popcorn salt, suspends well, no grinding, straight from the container to the plastic, works great and is pretty cheap
  5. It's a very difficult process, I posted about it in the thread that was linked. I have been so busy doing other things lately that I haven't had time to come by and say hi, unfortunately life gets in the way sometimes, but I'm back now. I have a bunch of PM's that I haven't gotten a chance to read or answer, so if you have any questions that i didn't respond to send them again Good to be back
  6. no bleeding on these, i've dipped them then packed them in worm oil and so far so good after day 3. I'll keep ya posted
  7. Ok I was always a big fan of the spike it, until recently. I have always wanted something to enhance colors and permanate a bait. I might have found it. I am working with a company now and hopefully (a small partnership) They make a fantastic dip and dye that can be brushed on or dipped on a bait. I stuck a stick bait in some and placed it in some water, the next day the bait still smelled like the garlic. amazing.. they have chartreuse, blue and methoylate(sp). so I started brushing some onto some of my baits and others and was really impressed with what could be done with so little effort. When I get some more baits done I'll post some pictures for you guys to check out

Nil, love the baits you sent me, have enhanced a few with the new dip colors i have painted onto them, i'll explain more later
  9. check my baby bass laminates in the gallery and let me know what you think, if you like them pm me
  10. I don't heat my molds, but I do make sure second color is very hot and I do 12 halfs, then put the molds togetehr and do the other halfs
  11. I'm in, the only thing is should all bags be labeled from who they came from so that when everybody gets their baits, they will know who made them, also what would be neat is if we decide on 10 10 packs of baits, maybe pick the same 10 colors so everyone can compare different colors? Just some ideas, let me know i'm in either way
  12. I caught it on one of my frogs, watermelon with red flake, but i think I could have been dragging anything past that area and it would have been smashed. I did however outfish another angler who was using horny toads. He couldn't understand why he kept missing them until I ripped the horny toad in half and showed him all the salt in it, explained it's tough to get a good hookset in the pads as it is, never mind when your fighting the bait your using.lol. He rigged up some of my frogs and got a keeper on the first hookset
  13. I don't kiss anything with sores..:-)
  14. not sure nova, but that would be my guess
  15. Well I'm back from Wisconsin and had a blast, while I didn't win the tournament(or even close) 2 of the top 3 winners used my baits to win. Which is a win win for either way :-) I did take biggest non bass on one of my frogs. This beast just slammed it coming off the pads. I was surprised to get her into the boat on 10 lb test, but got her right in the front of her lip, what a fight
  16. Nice I have a bunch of speedcraws that were sent to me by zoom, haven't used them yet but they look great. Thanks for the tips.
  17. Well I don't bet very much anymore since i moved, not too many oppurtunity's to fish out here with 25 days in the 90's and 5 in the 100's the fishing has been slow this past summer. As for what's next it's a 10 hour drive to wisconsin for an upcoming tournament on Boom lake. Temps will be in the lower 70's and raining both days( hopefully they are wrong), I'll be putting my baits to the test, so i've been pouring non stop for the past few days, headed over to basspro shops today and loaded up on shakey heads, hooks and drop shot weights...while I was there I saw some new terminator spinnerbaits for 7.99 each somekind of diamond series... No thank you!! I was never impressed with their quality anyway. I head out tuesday night wish me luck guys and play nice while I'm away..
  18. Hey Jim want to laugh some time, tie both of your lines to one hook, have one person just open his bail and the other person cast. It's was so funny when we both felt the "tap" and then set the hook. The fish never knew what hit it.
  19. SOCK... The video is a seriously funny idea but the PITA people will be on you if it appears you harmed a fish (or bait)... I'd pay for video like that though!!! Nah we wouldn't harm any fish not even those nasty pickerel. I did however once catch a crappie and throw it like a chinese star, the sucker inhaled a small jig and it bled to death. I kept it in the boat when I saw my buddy fishing I chucked it. He held up his hand and that little fish cut him right open,,,still wish I had that on video One of the lakes we fish is right down the road from Pocono raceway. We were thinking of dressing my nephew up as a bass then reeling him in and holding him up while my buddy took the picture, we figured with all the people stuck on that road during race weekend for nascar that the looks on their faces would be priceless We still haven't gotten the nerve up for a cat food bet, every fish caught results in a teaspoon of catfood for the other guy...just can't get up the nerve to do it...there are no winners in that bet lol:nuhuh:
  20. actually you would be surprised what you can use and what you can't use after a certain amount of years go by, advertisers use images and songs all the time that were never protected or whose protection has expired...at least that's what I have read and been told, but who knows
  21. Anyone compile any of your pictures or videos for the PC? Here is an older one I had done when we were toying around with some promotional stuff. I'm working on doing some more soon as I really love putting something together again. Most of the video was shot using a digital camera that coverts into a windows format. It's neat to look back at this stuff sometimes.. Hope you enjoy http://media.putfile.com/Bass-fishing-32
  22. The hair one got me too...I picture a stick with a trump comb-over. The Mullet...All business in the front, party in the back... ahh the hair.... let me tell you the story behind it.... I have a good friend who use to fish with me a lot before I moved. We use to have all sorts of bets when we would go out. One day we decided to up the ante, and have a hair bet. The first bass caught would win and the other guy would have to get his head shaven bald.. Well we needed neutral water so we went to the delaware river and decided on bank fishing, we were there for about ten minutes when I felt a tap on my 3 inch senko bait. I set the hook and had a little fish running around in circles. When I reeled in it was a 5 inch smallmouth. My friend was devastated, started swearing it was a walleye. I was laughing so hard my stomach hurt. The next day he showed up at 6 am before work to get the hair done, I shaved him down and he started walking towards his car. I said " wait, your not bald" he muttered some obscenities and headed to the bathroom for the razor and shaving cream. I scooped up all the hair and put it in a bag. that night I tied some jigs with his hair, we went fishing the next day and I took out one of the jigs and caught a monster pickerel. he asked what I was using and I showed him it was his hair. He didn't believe me until I pulled out the bag. lol since then we had all sorts of bets, hair bets, wear a dress bet, wear a bra and panties bet( i should not have taken that bet, even though I won, he looked really nasty in the thong at 6 am and 8 am and 10 am and noon). I have yet to be on the end of a losing bet with him, thank god but talk about a rush when your fishing to save your dignity, the adrenellin starts pumping with every hookset Oh I did lose one bet, first to catch a pickerel the other guy would have to put it in his back pocket for 3 minutes, damn thing bit my ass, drew blood and everything. It was quickly released and i swore I saw it smile We are thinking of putting a DVD together with all the bets we do, wonder if it would sell??? Nothing right about it:nuhuh:
  23. Nice Job Nova, you have a real talent.
  24. Here are things I have tried Minced garlic----not good aluminum foil, ehhh ok but not for production crayons- not bad for adding small amounts of a different color, some very bad reactions on certain brands, not recommended styrofoam- what the hell was I thinking? BB's- nothing would come out consistent Glass rattles- absolutely the best thing i ever poured into a stick Countless amounts of sweat- hell the stuff drips off me here in South west Ohio. Numerous Bugs- they land in my open plastic container, I see them as i pour, free meat as far as I'm concerned Canola oil- another dumb idea Human hair- laid it across the stick mold, closed the mold then poured. This actually was pretty neat as the sticks were very fuzzy. Downside...short supply of hair since I hit my late 30's, but I do have two dogs so i might revisit it Liver juice- I have no idea as I hate liver, the dogs munched on a few worms, then spit them out Blood- Drained from a piece of steak, they actually caught some decent fish, but I rarely eat steak, the only other source for blood is the spouse of mine, but that's not a question I want to ask once a month
  25. You would think...lol, I had a big june bug fly right into a cup of hot plastic as I was getting ready to pour..It was like a plane hitting the side of a mountain. He sits on my shelf..the funny part is I was pouring junebug sticks. I was laughing for hours, but thenagain I'm easily amused
