  1. The bluegill is sweet. Can't make out too much detail on the other two but they still look nice.

    WOW

I saw that thread and there were some nice carvings there. I wouldn't be throwing those things. Mine is definitely bait.
  3. Congrats! Looking forward to the pic. And it's pretty neat that you got to be an observer at HBC.
  4. lockjaw

    WOW

Thanks guys! It's made from popular and the main body is 18". It's about 23" with the bucktail treble attached. I don't have a scale so I can't really get an official weight. It just weights a ton. You'd have to be Popeye to cast this thing for more than half an hour...which is why I'll be trolling it and the video will be rolling

    WOW

Good intuition clamboni. That's mine LOL. Glad you like it. A lot of the credit goes to everyone here at tackleunderground. Without you guys, it wouldn't have been possible. I made that lure just for fun. I'm actually surprised it turned out so well, since I'm still kind of new to lure making. I finished the lure and shot the video on the last day of the musky season, so I haven't gotten a chance to really put the lure to the test. I'm hoping it gets destroyed this upcoming season A 48" musky huh? Hmmmm....
  6. And I thought your lures looked good out of the water. That is great. Awesome swimming action.
  7. Wow. Is there an official name for this plastic? I'd like to try some experiments.
  8. Don't forget the ugly side of the business. Patents, lawsuits, lawyers... And all the knock-off makers (big and small) that will copy your hard work if you happen upon a real winner.
  9. Now that's a lure you don't see everyday. Another nice one you got there.
  10. That's a great paint job. Well done.
  11. That is superb. Great ideas. Thanks for sharing.

    Two Mice

You don't see these everyday. Neat lures.

    Those are beautiful.
  14. Sure, it looks like a Triple Trout but eh..no big deal. It looks great. Keep us updated.
  15. Yes, that's right. Cut in half, make grooves for wire, add weight, put wire in and then "glue" it back together. Most guys use Devcon epoxy - 5 Min epoxy should be fine.
  16. Kribman, based on your description, I don't think a thru-wire constucted that way will hold up to musky. What type of wood are you using? If you're using hard wood like maple you should be fine with just screw eyes. Hazmail, has a nice tutorial on thru-wire constuction you should read. It will give you some great ideas on how the process is done, just expand on it for musky sized lures... http://www.tackleunderground.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10686 Most guys use Devcon epoxy to keep it all together. Remember "search" is your friend. Use it and you should find most of what you need to help you along the way. As for the mesh, it would be really helpful if we knew what process you plan to use. Are you airbrushing? hand painting? foiling? spray cans? Good luck.
  17. If you're looking for fresh water fish, Wisconsin has a nice site: http://www.wiscfish.org/fishid/frames.aspx

    Red Holographic

That is sweet looking. Nice job.
  19. Hi everyone. I'm Bee, 35, from Wisconsin. I've learned a lot from this site and eventually hope to give back when my knowledge and experience allow me to. I don't ice fish so I need something to do during winter and making lures sounds like a great idea. I've been doing it for only a couple months. I've made a few duds and one nice swimbait so far. Sure is addicting.

    Some Saltwater Flies

Nice squid. Now that's a fly I don't see everyday LOL.

    Thanks guys!

    pike swimbait

Kinda made this just for fun to see if I could entice some musky. Main body is 18" long, made out of popular, weights a ton, and swims with a snake-ish "S" pattern (top water)
  23. My guess is they were probably lost in the crash.
