  1. Most states will require you to collect sales tax at the flea markets and trade shows also. I would hand some out at the local tourney and go from there.
  2. Try mounting carpet blades in a piece of " U " chanel pipe and then mount it on one of those can crushers. We used that for a long time and it worked just fine.
  3. Just not worth the $500.00 for the life membership. Have been a reader for several years but just don't have time to read the articles anymore. I enjoy the day on the lake but in all honesty... the first thing I do is look to see if I won one of the monthly prizes. Lol.
  4. We can all be concerned with change but..... if we didn't have change, there would not be improvment in the lures we build and use today. I look forward to seeing where you take this site in the future. Welcome aboard.
  5. Just remember, when you own your own business, you only have to work part of the day.( Pick what 12+ hours you want to work.) It's not easy but a lot of fun. We have been doing this for 8 years and it has been a headach at times but we meet a lot of great people and learn new things all the time. You won't make any money starting out but it takes sacrifice to get where you want to be. Keep very detailed records as the tax man will come knocking......
  6. A great looking action bait!!
  7. The same "good ol boys" that own bait shops will try to get you to put your stuff in on consignment. That is a slow death as they have nothing tied up in your product so they won't try to sell it like they would a product that they have paid for.
  8. I believe the start-up for the plates was around $300.00 ( 3 plates, 1 per color.) and the bags started at 17 cents each if you purchased 20,000. Not exactly sure of those numbers for the per bag price but I'm sure it's close. Also we had to send the first shipment back due to peeling as they did not do the laminate properly but they did correct it.
  9. Try Bison Bags. They also do a reverse negative print in case you want printed bags.
  10. There is no problem with this mold. Shoots great and works great. I sell large quantities and have had no problems.
  11. Just sell to the local bait stores. If you bring extra customers to their store, they will be happy to carry your product. No need to try to retail your product. Also here in Ky. we found out that the raw material used to make our lures was a tax deduction but any finished product is concidered sellable and you have to pay an inventory tax.( Inventory required at the end of the year or end of your fiscal year.) Make sure to keep a very detailed milage log you will need it. Good Luck and stay on the good side of the IRS. You'll be glad you did.
  12. I have the bass tackle and it works great for me. Very close to the original.
  13. Man did I ever miss this one. Hope for more swap meets close by. Will keep an eye out for this posting.
  14. Molds are sold. Thanks
  15. I use aluminum dipping rods. They are a lot cheaper and you can produce different sizes. With a mold, you only get the one size.
  16. Welcome to the addiction. Take your time and read this site,it's full of helpfull information.
  17. Cargil natural sea salt and my wifes blender.( Hope she doesn't read this lol) powders it up nicely.
  18. I don't think the basstackle injectors will work with the caney creek molds. If you buy the 2 injectors from bass tackle, the blending block is included, most if not all of the injected molds from all the mold makers can be shot as a laminate bait, and a laminate is 1/2 of each side of the bait is a diferent color. To get the claws a different color, you need a mold with a gate to shoot the 2nd color to the oposite end of the bait. Keep reading and you will find out more of what you are looking for on this site. Hope this helps. I am also in ky so pm me and I'll send you my phone #. Later, Gary
  19. Custom colors the big boys don't have.
  20. You may try vegtable oil also. Works well for me .Also use it as a coating to help prevent build-up or rust during downtime. The rubbing alcohol will break the fleck loose.
  21. If you are heating a small amount, try the lee pouring pots. It is easy to control the flow for the smaller molds.
  22. "So I placed an order monday for 500 bucks worth of molds from BT." I guess somebody didn't read that part of the post. Have a nice day.
  23. I read befour posting, This was about molds and customer service, not coloring or fleck.
  24. I won't order from anyone else. Have never had a problem with BT.
  25. Can you increase the amount of raw material?
