  1. When we started out, I told my partners " when you own your own business, you only have to work 1/2 a day, just pick what 12 hours you want to work!!" We started with the same molds everybody else used and then after a few stores started carring our product, we designed our own bait. Bob Jones made our custom molds for us and it was off and running to tournaments, boat shows, tackle showes, and shops for seminars.Working 7 days a week plus our full time jobs, travel, meals, and hotels with no money comming in will put a strain on your body and mind. We went from 0 to 127 stores in a little over 4 years. It takes a lot of work but in my opinion, it is well worth it. We still don't make a "Killing" but we have fun and are close to retiring from our full time jobs.As long as you are willing to put in the work, you will be sucessfull and possibly get a good buy out from one of the big boys. Good Luck.
  2. cook your scent into the plastic and then add a few drops of worm oil to the bag. salt also warks well.
  3. You can also use natural sea salt and grind it in a blender. The finer salt " floats" in the plastic and won't settle at the bottom or sides of the mold as the plastic cures.
  4. I switched from the 6 to the 3 due to easier handling. You can shoot all your plastic before the plastic sets up. If you are shooting one color, I would use the 6 oz.

    aluminum molds

I have 2 basstackle bite me hand poured 4" molds $79.00 each tyd.
  6. try using vegtable oil for lubrication. Also check the speed of the stirer on your presto pot. The faster the speed, the more likly you are to get air bubbles.
  7. just recieved my injectors from bass tackle a few weeks ago, they work great on all the molds I have and the service from bt was great.
  8. Have you tried to use paste coloring instead of liquid? You can mix by weight ( grams per gallon.)
  9. NEVER put products in the stores on a consignment basis, they have no reason to sell your product over one they have to purchase from a distibuter. Start with some local bass clubs to get your name out there. After enough people start asking for your product, it will be easier to get the stores to stock your product.
