Cthulhu: The carpet has stayed just the way we layed it . We did put the glue down alittle thicker than normal and layed the carpet down before the glue got tacky. It did take two people to do the job and we used a roller used for pressing down countertop materials to get a good bond. We had to remove our locker lids so we did them on the work bench. Cthulhu: My Dad and I recarpeted his 1974 Ranger Tr 10. We used a marine grade carpet glue and a good grade marine carpet. We cut the carpet to dry fit the boat, the glue instructions say to coat the deck and the carpet and let get tacky before laying the carpet, that was a mistake. We couldn't shift the carpet properly in place,tore that off and this time only coated the deck and then layed the carpet down. We were able to move the carpet alittle and roll out any rinkles. The carpet and boat look as good as new today. Good Luck Sidewinder

I am not sure when they will start refilling Rodman , I can try and find some dates. I won't be able to let you know for a few days while I'm in Alabama. sidewinder

Rodman has been in a drawdown and will be for about 2 more months, fishing is unreal [shooting fish in a barrel] right now.Bass are catch and release only and I think bream and specks legal to keep. There are tempary ramps in place to use. I don't know of any rentals in that area,you may have to look up a guide service. You need to be careful if you don't know the area because its 5 feet below normal and full of stumps. Good Luck! sidewinder

Fliptail worms are still being made. I looked them up on the internet a month ago just searching the name fliptail. I believe they had a minimum order of about 60$. They had the worms,lizards,flirt.and a few others. If you have trouble finding them let me know. sidewinder.

Just my 2cents worth, but don't make the same mistake I did. I applied for a design patent for a weight. I was getting everything ready to manufacture when a family illness caused me to postpone my production, not to worry I have a patent.WRONG:censored:.When my patent was approved it goes across the internet and the big guys have people see whats new ,if they like it they make their 15% or 20% change and beat you to market. And there is THE OKEECHOBEE RIG. Just make sure you have all your ducks in a row and be ready for some highs and lows. In my opinion a design patent is worthless,if you can do a utility patent $$$$$$ it may hold up better. Good luck sidewinder

I have found it easier to take a pin head size drop of 2ton or superglue to fix the pupil in place before adding the 2ton for the 3D look. Once you master this part you can make some two and three color pupils.

Borderbasser I use thin black plastic or paper for the pupil. I made the eye sockets on my molds alittle deeper,and have yet to lose an eye.

What I do when I sharpen a bunch of hooks is apply some cold blue solution for gun barrels with a Qtip, then lightly oil them. The cold blue can be found in most gun cleaning sections. Hope this helps. sidewinder

Borderbasser I pour swim baits for several elite,and flw pros and we all had the problem with the eyes falling apart. I was using WTP eyes and now make my own. I use sequins from the hobby shops,8mm mostly,you get about 1500 for 2 bucks. Put the sequins cup side up on masking tape fixed sticky side up.Get a holepunch from the scrapebook section ,I like the 1/8 hole. Punch out a bunch of black or any color for pupils. I handle all this tiny pieces with a sharp Xacto knife point. Mix up some 2ton epoxy and use a flat toothpick to put a drop of 2ton on the sequins. With a liitle practice you can make 200 to 300 in a hour. Let dry for about 8 hours and attach to the swim bait with goof proof super glue. good luck, sidewinder

I have used coffee scents for 20 years, it does work. I got the scents from a friend that worked at a ink producer. It is oil based and mixes with hot plastic. The company name on the bottle is Ungerer Company, I found them online but never contacted them.You might try to google fragrance producers also. Let use know what you find out,by the way the bacon flavor far outdoes the coffee for me. sidewinder

Mags on the paddletail you may have to thicken the tail some to make pouring easier. I took a #4 OR # 5 COLORADO blade and glued a dowl rod to inner cupped side of the blade and would dip it to the edge of the blade in hot plastic. Dip it two three times and twirl the blade between dips to even the plastic out. Glue the new tail to master and make a mold. My basstrix tails are twice as thick as the original pour easier and swim better.Hope this helps. sidewinder

I have poured several hundred swim baits the past several months and have noticed some of the older ones the eyes are coming apart. The eyes are WTP from Barlows. I added some super glue to each eye to make sure they stayed put. The swim baits had no oil added to them in the worm boxes. Do you think there is some kind chemical reaction to the super glue? Any help would be welcome. sidewinder

I am courios about how to go about securing a name of a bait or company name so it can"t be copied, is that a trademark or what. Also does the process need a lawyer involved? sidewinder

Sometimes when a worm wont lay the way you want in a mold I will insert a thin piece of copper wire and shape the worm the way you need it. Hope this might help you. sidewinder

Thanks for the compliment Metal-Head. The body was carved out of balsa wood but the tail was off a buzz worm. The mold is a 2 piece pop, once the mold dried I did some more carving and added a removable hook slot. I have molds of most swim baits, Misson Fish, Little-E, and Bass-Trix to pour for my friends that don"t want to pay 10 to 20$ for a one or two fish bait. The exception is the Matt-Lures baits thats like going to the Taxidermist, a quality paint job. sidewinder

Thanks for the replies guys.As for the shinny part on the nose it is a glued on weight just under 3/16, with a line tube to the treble hook. When a fish is hooked the bait slides up the line and doesn"t tear up as fast. The pictures view doesn't let you see just how far the hook sticks out on the sides.Plus by pointing upwards it bounces over structure better and sits on the bottom upright. I worked those little details out on the 4" swim bait that I have caught several nice fish on. Still don't know what to do about all those fish that follow the bait back to the boat. sidewinder

I put this new 3" swim bait in the pool to see how it swims, it looks awesome. Let me know what you think of it? I was going to put the 4" one to the test in a tournament last weekend but thanks to all the fires:flame: in Fla. it was canceled. P.S. please send rain. sidewinder

Hi fellows ,I was at the BASS MASTERS CLASSIC in Feb. and talked to the owner of Rad lures and asked about all the copycays? He said his lawyers were working overtime to stop the knockoffs.He wouldn't tell me if he had a design patent or utility patent. I believe the letter is the real deal. sidewinder
