Good to see you thinking out solutions again Dave - a great solution to every lure users PITA. I had this never ending tussle with sets of tiny rings and always too large S/R pliers a few months back so I made a set out of a small set of S/S electronic needle nose pliers. They work better than the bought ones- $10 and a bit of filing and I finally had something that would fit my 1/4" rings. Thanks again Pete.

Mark- I lied, its a whisky bottle with 'Prop' in it, can't drink that stuff (or Prop) -- the unseen bedlam/junk on the benches carries on for a couple of more meters around the shed walls, sometimes it can be a nightmare - I just built a rod in amongst all this:roll:. Pete

Phew Dave I just went from 12 to 6 Rpm, like you have said that seems to be the consensus- I got some really good results @ 12, but the blood de-clotter motor died!!! Thats all on about 6" rad. Thanks for the head work, good to see you posting again. Pete

Yep all this moisture cure stuff is certainly tough - I smashed a puck of 'Plucid' from the bottom of a dried up jar about 18 months back, it is about 3/8" thick and it still bends, and is as clear as day one (very light pink). Pete

Kris - I think you will find the 'water droplet's' is done with enamel paint, not sure weather thinners based or oil based, but suspect thinners, the pigment spray would float on the drops and drop around the sides - Oil based enamel would also float on the droplets and probably drop, BUT would take ages to dry. .Pete

Matty - same here for all the posted solutions on skinning and the wet paint issues, but I have had this 'bubble problem' happen a lot with other coatings (over W/B acrylics)- the bubbles might be coming from under the paint, the air may be bleeding up through it (which may be pours), this would be much worse on a hot day where there is a temp differential between the outside air and the air inside the lure- the cure (for me anyway) is to spray a few (3) light coats of clear sealer over the paint before finishing (let it DRY) then add your coating - of course, beforehand making sure it is compatible with the clear under coating. You could always get a mouth full of w/b acrylic and do something like this . Pete

Have you tried making them yourself, like most of this 'Art' it can be a lengthy but rewarding experience. You will also appreciate why 'real' eyes cost so much. Pete

Sounds good to me Ben, I might get some of that furnace tape and try it - red lips seem to work so a bit of flash in the murk should do the job too. I used to make a 2" lure with a concave aluminium lip and it seemed to get the trout interested. Pete
