  4. I'm just sitting here reading this, taking it all in but not buying into it ! ! ! - because I have given enough bad advice for a lifetime. By the way Rookie - coincidentally, I like fat men ! ! ! --- I just looked in the mirror:lolhuh:.pete
  5. Thanks L/P, I used this before my "2008" crash and have never been able to find it again. I have been using "PhotoScape" for the past few years which is IMO is not a be editor, BUT PICresizer is so quick for reducing the size, it's not worth mucking around with the others. Thanks again .... and good luck with it Rob - Pete.

    More 2" sinkers

Thanks fellas - yes I made these for trout and maybe a bit of a run for bream next week at the coast. Mark/Rofish I thought I would try a red lip for a change, I saw 'Rapala' using them on their 'Bleeding Minnows' which have been accounting for a few trout around here, also yellow/ green is catching a few too, so I might also try yellow lips on a few as well, and might call them 'Jaundiced Minnows' Ha! Ha! ------- the hook hangers are made from sheet brass (one piece 1mm thick), I had them punched out (3000 of them) to make assembly easier when I was selling lures about 25 years back, and still have the 'Die' for them, but don't have that many hangers left - Pete

  11. Yeah Bob I too tend to agree with you, using four different woods would be a bit like having 4 wives, you never know what to do to keep on the right side of 'the line' - Not that I have ever had more than one!!!!pete
  12. K/F - DON'T THROW IT AWAY--- with a Forstner bit, drill a vertical hole in the top as deep as you think, then cap it off with something - maybe stuff some tissue in and cap with bog?? this extra air should give you some buoyancy where you want it (opposite to lead ballasting) - I'm finding sometimes it's as good to have neutral timber as it is to have heaps of buoyancy (Balsa), for me this is especially true in 'swim baits'.pete
  13. Too hot to handle, awesome. pete

    Musky Crank

A bit more yellow Vince and you would have something very close to what we call a Golden Perch, boy that's a stunning bit of painting.pete
  15. Yeah Mark, that's me, Mary with the shaky hand, I don't even try any more I use a piece of cotton or stencils, I will have to make one of those gill plate stencils, detail seems to be the fashion.pete
  16. Dan - Here's a few more, "Home brew Tools" is a good source for this stuff. pete http://www.tackleunderground.com/forum/homebrew-tools/15072-finding-centre-blank.html
  17. So Gene are you moving out of the house??- And is that the corner where you had your lathe? I can imagine you sitting at that island bench carving a head - looks great. I would put a picture of mine up but I don't have a wide enough lens to take in all the gadgets (and Junk). pete
  18. Hey 'Rookie', I reckon you are angling for a DN sample .pete
  19. Hey Mark- I have not got the spatial sense of KF, can you post a picture of your screen thingo so I can align it with your text. Thanks pete
  20. The infamous "Cubbie Station" is for sale - it's a cotton farm and a bargain at about $450 Million for about 200,000 acres. Where? on the border of N.S.W and Queensland Go 'Google Maps' -----> Cubbie Station Queensland Australia Need a loan ? give me a call . Pete

    My first repaints

K/F- very nice paint and finish, what clear have you used here?.pete
  23. K/F- I don't think you have to apologise for anything here, if someone is comfortable with what they are using and they are 'grown ups' then they should use it, after all they are the ones who suffer the consequences if they are wrong, how else do we learn, we take advice and move on from there, sometimes forward sometimes back, gee I do it all the time and then beat myself up!! I have an acquaintance who will not breathe unless someone else recommends it, so all he does is breathe
  24. Very nice little lures and great simple colours, just like the real ones.pete
