    Green 'Reverse Pearl'

Thanks diemai, the water (salt) is so shallow and clear where I fish for 'flathead', they have to be pretty or bright colours, and the pearl colours help, similar to salt water flies.pete
  4. Very realistic Husky, and the trout here would love it too.pete
  5. Same to you Rick, and I hope it is a good one for you. I have had a big year, hardly made a bait since the Clinton meet in May, but intend on reversing that this year. I just stuck one in the gallery. pete

  9. Me too Pikey, that's a great idea, I have a few old cordless drills in the shed. Remember the really old ones that had a swivelling head (multi angle chuck), they would be ideal. Think I have chucked it away though. pete
  10. Looks like the link has gone, try here: LIVE Footage: Great White stalks kayakers & fisherman in Sydney , Australia - Truveo Video Search OR do a 'TRUVEO, search for 'shark kayak'. There has been a bit of hysteria here in the past few days with this video, and a guy being taken in Perth, I think people are even seeing sharks at Ayres Rock ?? All the beaches are covered with food (humans) being the Christmas holidays. I still can not believe those guys, its only a matter of time before a kayak is mistaken for a big seal, which is their favourite food around here. pete
  11. Baitman- You have got me thinking 'Infra Red' now. I had a look on "fleabay" today, and I think there is some great value there, compared to Cabelas. Distance to area ratio and temp range seems to be the critical bit's, a reasonable one has 12:1 - I can think of lots of other fishing uses for these - don't get one with an ear probe!! HUUMMMMMMMM. pete
  12. There is a fish here called 'Fingermark Bream', which has a large spot towards the tail, it is also called amongst other names, "Moses Perch", and the spot is said to be Moses thumb print (he must have had 2 thumbs on each hand). Beautiful fish to catch and eat, and gets to about 20lb - I have never caught one. Thinking of the spot on the rear of this fish, I can see this may be a decoy, to attract an attacker to the rear of the fish instead of the head, thus allowing a fish to directly retreat, without having to turn around to escape?? In the link below they say the spot changes, with the mood of the fish which may be a breeding attraction, or just a moody female???? All food for thought!! 5 1/4 Inch Musky Crank

Nice colour, finish, lures Vince, handy little size too- I am imagining you beavering away in that basement, snow and ice all around, snug as a bug. pete
  18. Spoopa, I suggest the guys in the tackle shop have more interest in your $, than you catching fish, I have put spots on lures (about 25 years ago), never made much difference, a bit like stripes, on the day they may be dynamite. I prefer KC's, Phil, and V/mans theories, they sound logical!!. As for me, I am covered in spots (freckles), and these are failing to induce any mating impulses in the local females here, and I am still alive, so there goes the 'Kill Spot' theory.pete
  19. I'm a bit late, but I can hardly remember mine!!- hope you had a good one 'Bear'. All the best .Pete
  20. Yes I'll 10th that , hope you had a good one 'Diemai' - Thank you for all your hard earned knowledge (WOW, 627 posts since March).pete

  22. This could also be caused by the propionate 'gassing off' if it was not sufficiently cured before coating (a few days). Having a lure in the sun would exacerbate this, and if the prop was thinned with acetone, it would probably attack the D2T above, maybe causing it to cloud and lift.pete
  23. Gee Greg, you could have put the web address up here too, may as well have two full blown adds (free), as half of one. pete
  24. Good one Jed, never thought there would be any difference, will have to get the syringes. pete
