Probably a stupid question but has me curious. Are lee plastic and lead pots the same? -
Can someone please educate me on how you remove light rust dust from your molds? I purchased a used mold and it is lightly rusted. I am sure it will come off without damaging the detail of the mold but not sure of the technique to use. Thanks for the help.

I see that a lot of us sell or buy molds and such on ebay. I just won a lee production pot and a football head mold on ebay and was just curious if it came from a TU member.

Yeah I have sent Bob some lures and he mailed them back packaged with a couple different options. Real nice guy to work with. He will also work with your budget so if you don't need super large quantities he will do less. 500 seemed like the minimum if I remember right.

JMO- But instead of TU charging for classifieds, trades, or wanted they should just set something up to take donations. I am sure MOST users on this site would donate to help with the costs associated with running this site. But the idea of paying $ for each thread when most threads are "do you still have this available?" is crazy.

Yeah I see where a rep would come in. But on a much smaller scale a traveling saleman could be a big benefit I would think. You could get your product exposure across the country on someone elses dime. All it would cost you is the commision you would agree upon. All my lures are sold to local bait shops within a 75 mile radius because I only do consignments and like that I can physically go to the store to see what is moving and what is not. But for the guys who want to be on a larger scale but don't want to go with a rep and maybe risk being overwhelmed I think a traveling salesman would be a good alternative with very little cost.

I saw a thread some time ago on where to buy hooks for the best price. I did a search and am not finding it. Currently Captain Hook's seems to be the best price I can find but I know I saw a post of a site that was even cheaper. Could someone be kind and point me in the right direction. Looking for EC 570, 571, 1623 hooks in quantities of 1000. Thanks

I have recently been thinking about what if you found a person who is already a traveling salesman. Since he is already on the road why wouldn't someone like that work? You could easily make a display for him to show possible customers and if you know what cities he will be going to with a little bit of notice you could easily give him a list of the local tackle shops. Just a thought I had recently

I don't think the guy I am getting it from is a dentist. But I am going to check with some of the local dentists and see if they will keep it for me. Also have numerous local plumbers saving all lead they pull out of houses for me.

Not sure why a manufacturer wouldn't sell direct when we are talking quantities of well over the thousands. It is cheaper to buy from Worth Company than it is to buy from Barlows or Janns for the same product. Jann's and Barlows are great for people who only need a few hundred of something at a time, but it is not cost effective if you want 5,000 + at one time. I get all my beads, clevis's, split rings, blades, and lure bodies from Worth because it is much more cost effective. But I would like to get my lure dressings, eyes, buzz blades, etc. from manufacturers as well to help cut down on costs.
