Chrome has a very BAD habit of knocking Adobe Flash Player and Java off kilter - Open Chrome and go to this page http://chrome://plugins/ bookmark it!! Make sure the following items are checked ALWAYS ON Adobe Flash Player Java I found the same problem as I set up my wife's new Win8 laptop for her school work and it fixed the problem. I've pretty much dumped IE any version as it's turned into a virus factory or always locks up. Don't know if FireFox has the same thing or not.

X2 on making your own - but looking at LPO didn't see any wires with snaps. they showed wire leaders like you'd put on pike fishing, but again if you buy the parts and coil of the material you can make your own. Can you post a direct link?

Haven't found any of the craft stores yet that carry the single bottles so you may have to order from the bay or amazon. When I got the Systems packs I had coupons for 50% off one item, ran me about $13 and change.

Never had a problem with any of it. Even if you buy it by the lb. you can always trade others for different colors. Do it on other jig boards and in material swap box's. I've mixed it with other colors for custom mix's with no problems either.

This isn't plating but it's a nice Solar Gold - it's Jacquards PearlEx, I mix 2 tablespoons of clear to an 1/8th of a teaspoon of the Jacquards I got mine in the PearlEx Systems 2 package but you can order separate bottles of each color.

Nice clean up!! I use an old cast iron cornstick breadpan Makes just over 1 lb bars

Some of the colors are more dense but not all of them, I have some I traded for and I also use a bunch from Columbia Coatings. On those that seem denser just add some clear powder and it makes it work just fine in a fluid bed.

ts I just picked up 1000 Rosco crane swivels and they're just as good as the Hagens - you can order direct from them in a 1000 count for $32.87 + $5.80 flat rate priority shipping for $38.67 which is a good deal. Did find out that Sampo crane swivels are Rosco crane swivels that's where they buy them from!!

Two thin coats are better than 1 heavy coat and let it dry in between. And if you have any favorite tools with messed up grips you can redo them!!

With everyone else on nothing overhead when you do it!!LOL Had never fluxed my lead and after reading the post on here about it tried it and just about crapped my pants when it lit up!!!!!! I use a really long handled screwdriver to scrap the sides gently then a tablespoon to skim off the junk. I may be one of the weird ones but I clean my pot after every use.

I got away for IE myself even though I didn't have any problems with it but I DID find with Google that when I cleared my history I had clicked clear Host add-ons One of my gaming sites would let anything run and I had to go here http://chrome://plugins/ On the Adobe Flash and Java - put a check mark in always allowed for both of them and then go back and re-log into TU and see if that was your problem. Fixed me right up. I work with computers for my job but with all the different web browsers they have their own rules!!!LOL

Veniards Fly Dye is used a lot in the fishing industry, they also have flourescent colors. Cheapest I've found it is on ebay at $15 jar but according to instructions I've read you don't need more than a half a teaspoon of the dye. I just started dyeing feathers this year and the Kool-Aid works good but you do have to use vinegar to set the color. I've also used the RIT liquid dye and some colors work better than others.

HMH vises has a new one http://www.eflytyer.com/tools/hmh_vises.html You can order it with the salt-water jaws and whatever your preference is on the base. HMH makes a good vise, and several guys I know on the fly boards use them. Or check out Dyna-King vises. Standard Kingfisher will hold an 8/0 hook with the regular jaw - I use this vise for everything - of course I got mine before they got expensive. Really good vise. HMH SX: The SX is HMH's entry level vise. The SX has a fixed head that rotates. The jaws have the famous interchangability feature, allowing the tyer to swap jaws out and use either the heavy duty magnum jaw for saltwater tying or the micro jaw for midge jaw ( these jaws are available separately or the tyer may select either one of these jaws with the vise ). American Made with a Lifetime Warranty. The SX comes with the Universal Omni Jaw. C-Clamp or Base Model : $130 WOW!

Last time I did a chart for blade blanks the cheapest was Barlows - I'm always checking ebay to see if I can pick some up cheap. X2 with Kdog - anything bigger is going to be a custom job and big bucks.

Thought the only way you could order from Shorty's was if you had State sales tax number Federal tax id number Business license number 637 tax exemption number

I've been using #12 deluxe crane swivels from Hagens for years, only broken a few while cleaning excess lead off or if I got to heavy with the powder paint. Always wrap my swivels with tin foil then remove before curing. After curing if you have to use a razor blade knife and scrape any powder off the top of the swivel and the top wire. As long as you don't overblade them they shouldn't be breaking, I've been making them for years and no problems with these swivels.

It's a glitter - I get mine at AC Moores an arts and crafts store, I prefer the below pearlex instead of the diamond dust. The regular glittters are excellent in this brand. Jacquards PearlEx is also mica and has starter sets of 12 colors - I have the System 1 and System 2 pack, you mix it with clear powder I prefer it over the diamond dust The bottom color on this one is the macropearl Mica powder is better but it costs more but you don't have to use as much but it will fly it's that light and you need to mix it with clear powder paint. Bottom color is white pearl with mica powder mixed in. This is fl. pink and junebug with clear and mica powder mixed in Mica powder can be expensive - Sepp brand is $17.00 for 3 oz. but a little goes a long way. I got 2 oz. through Amazon as I had a gift card and got it through Delphi http://www.delphiglass.com/enamels-paints/mica-powders/super-sparkle-mica-powder-1-oz

Started getting aquainted with Cad back when I joined in 2007 and I've talked here and regular email for years now. Got started with instructions on a fluid bed and then learning how to brush tap powder paint for two color jigs. With the knowledge that he gave me I've gotten into mixing powders for different colors and now glitters. SmallJaw, I got to know over on another board and we got him corrupted with tying different types of materials other than bucktail!!LOL and he's become a good friend - he's got some good jig tying video's on YouTube that will help you out in tying a good jig. Thanks Guys!!!!!!!!!!!!

some molds will work better with pure - but I've used tire weight for years down to 1/32nd. You get weights with Z, ZA and lately I've seen some with ZF on them toss them. When I do any jig with crane swivels I try to use a 2-1 mix ( 2 lbs tire weight to 1 part pure). I pour 4-5 times with out hooks to heat my molds up and keep the setting on 7 on my Lee pot. With lead prices any time you can get good tire weights for free you take them. Also helps to flux your lead makes it pour better. I had never done this until I read the thread here on TU. I don't smoke my molds or use release spray and have never had any problems.

In-line spinners and v-spin beetle spin frames for me. I always buy my stainless steel wire in the coils

Do you have a piece or jig tied with the color - there are a bunch of shades of olive/green that could meet what your looking for. Look at craft fur, companies with cross-cut zonker strips they work really well with small jigs. Black, brown or grizzly is real nice to tie with but can be hard to get unless you get a few guys to go in on it. My local shop has black bear and every time I'm there I get some, but I imagine it would be tough to dye as you'd have to lighten it first. IF and that's a big IF, I could learn to dye materials I'd do some pieces of the polar bear I have, and it's really sweet to tie with.
