1. Tried to send you a message but it says you can't accept any new ones - Please contact me about ad. Thanks
2. Tetra Whisper 60 dual nozzle - I have it rigged up and run 3, 2" fluid beds at the same time, I run both tubes into a Y coupling and then the single hose into a 3 way valve. One line out of each valve and a shutoff valve going into the bed. Anytime I don't want to use a certain color for a while I can shut both valves to that pot until I need it again. I could probably get another couple beds added on with no problem. Got it on sale at PetSmart - make sure to buy extra couplings and tubing
3. Tip I learned from the guys here on toaster ovens - go to Walmart or Target wherever and get an in oven thermometer - guys were posting temps 20+ degrees higher than what they were set on. Cad has taught me alot on powder painting - love my heat gun I can control it much better. Using a fluid bed for the base color's then a slight reheat for brush tapping another another color on it. His sig line is absolutely true!!! "Practice, practice and more practice, and when you think you're good practice some more." circa 2006, Cadman Wait till you start playing with glitters!! whole new batch of fun!!!
4. This close? it's Jacquard's Pearl EX blue russett
5. Don't buy the Dormant paint set!! Nice colors but it's a 2 part system dip color cure for 10 mins then dip in the clear and finish curing. Major pain in the butt!!! I'lll use up what I have but won't buy it again. There Translucent candy Teal and Raspberry are spot on when you look at their site. Saw a paint mix for your color on another site I'll see if I can find it again.
6. Never heard of that before. Check out Rosy's powder paint their having a big sale and I know they show a lot of whites. http://www.roseyspowdercoating.com/
7. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Do-it-Spire-Point-Jig-Mold-Flair-collar-Size-1-1-1-2-2-oz-D3280-/251209135120?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a7d3b3410#ht_395wt_722 Here's one I know I've seen others I'll post when I find some more
8. X2 - that's where I saw the stuff I'll try and find the exact link when I get home.
9. Same reply here, not going to register - got a pic of it from somewhere else??
10. Just melt it off and you'll be fine. I just take a pair of needle nose pliers and hold the hook bend and a slight angle it'll melt right off, put it back in the mold and repour.
11. Ok - I registered on the Do It customs bait.com site and posted my idea there. While they do pour them, they do cut the originals and plates by CNC - Got this reply back!! Thanks for your post. I agree, that would be a nice jig and is something that will be given consideration. Typically we bring out an assorted mold for new designs and if it hits a certain popularity, we look at building combo and production molds. Here is little insight on how we produce our molds. All of our jig molds are poured in a foundry. We actually build patterns that are attached to match plates that are then processed in the foundry by pouring molten aluminum. We do create all of our designs and patterns on a computer that are cut on a cnc machine, but the cost of creating a pattern and a match plate make it cost prohibitive to produce custom molds in this manner. This process costs several thousand dollars and needs to be carefully evaluated before we move forward with new designs. With that said, many of our new designs are a result of feedback from our customers, so thanks for your input.
12. I use clear powder paint as most times the glitter coats I come up with go on just fine and cure right up. I'm slowly getting away from Pro-Tec except for a few colors I haven't found at Rosy's and Columbia Coatings. Before curing I make sure all eyelets are totally cleaned out. The only color of powder I've heard that Sally Hansens mess's with is chartreuse.
13. Okay based on SmallJaws reply I'll send them a new email that should get answered as it meets ALL of their legal guidelines. Do-It Corporation - You currently make a mold Item #3418 Walleye Jig - WHJ-7-AR which comes with recessed eye slots for stick on eyes and a ring and barb collar - this mold makes assorted sizes. As you already have all the legal rights to make this type jig - and as a service to your longtime customers, could you make a production mold of this jig in 1/16th oz., and have it with no collar. This is a mold that many would buy, and increase your profit margin.
14. Nice outside the box thinking Toad
15. I can understand your point but Customer service is Customer service - at least answer the email!! If you're in business it's to provide a product and to make money. I offered them the idea to make a mold to sell to everyone that would make them money, the email wasn't a request for custom mold services as YES!! I know they don't do that, I've been buying their molds for 35 years.
16. Have to agree with SJ - I make ALOT of spinners and one thing you don't mention is what size wire you're using for the shaft of the spinner?? I personnally prefer folded clevis's they just seem to work better.

Could be two things just based on what you posted -

If the wire your using for the shaft is bigger than the wire you used for the clevis EVEN if the holes are big enough for the wire to go through, the guage of the clevis wire may not spin as it's too light, or it could have a rough spot on it that's catching.

AND even if your blade looks close it may not have enough of a cup to catch the water right to get it spinning.

I took some clam shells one time and ground the outside stuff off and they had a nice pearlesant look to them. Cut them to spinner shape drilled the hole put the spinner together and the darn thing wouldn't spin. The problem was the thickness of the shell - once I thinned it out they worked great!!!!!!!!!!

It's usually something really easy but it's hard to notice. Hope this helps
17. I have no problems with their molds but IMO their customer service is the pits!!! They have the plans for their molds and how to cut/press you'd think it would be easy to re-work a mold that I asked about and would GURANTEE!!! to make them money. You don't even get a reply back - Seriously I'd be happy if they replied with go Pee (nicely worded)up a rope!! My 30th anniversary is coming up and the wife said I can look at getting 1 custom mold and if the price is right 2 of them. But finding someone to make customs that you can trust from reading all the boards has become a tough issue. Toad - I saw where they bought them and they're really putting out the PR on it, but c'mon don't forget the folks that have kept you in business all this time, and have fought like crazy against the lead ban issues.
18. Got in on a group buy for 3D eyes in different sizes and so far haven't had to use any glue at all!!! This is the store on bay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wholesale-1500-Soft-Molded-3D-Holographic-Fish-Eyes-4mm-Chartreuse-Fly-Tying-/261194099436?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cd061aaec#ht_1019wt_1170 but he has a store on Aliexpress http://www.aliexpress.com/store/group/3D-Eyes-4mm/610947_251104759.html Does take about 10 days to get them but the guy is pretty good!!!!!!!
19. Might help if you could post a jig painted with the color you're looking for. I've been getting away from Pro-Tec because of cost. I've purchased from Colombia Coatings, Orbit, Powder by the pound and they all work just like pro-tec.

2mm Eyes

I buy wiggle eyes from Michaels craft store, I use a pair of forceps and Duco cement. I take a piece of tin foil and put a spot of Duco on it grab an eye with the forceps tap it in the cement and place it on the jig. I do all the rights first give it 5 minutes and then I do the lefts. If the glue gets hung up on the tips quick wipe with paper towel and they're clean. This is the first time I'm trying them but so far none have fallen off and the big test is this spring when I use them for the first time.
