  2. Besides using a screwdriver to re-align the pour bar I use a really long piece of stiff lure making wire and run it down along the edge of the pour bar and out the pour spout to clear it out. Make sure you're wearing heavy gloves and you have a small pot to catch the lead that comes out when you lift the the handle. I've never had to use any flux or wax in my melting pots. After I'm done pouring and the pot's are cold again I use steel wool to clean the inside of the pot. Fatman
  3. Viper, Are you talking about plastic molds or lead molds??? I'd be interested if lead molds, of course if this takes place people are gonna have to find parts LOL. Great idea either way. Fatman
  4. With powder paint I've never had any problems. Now with brush style paints YES, I always swish them through vinagar then rinse with water put on paper towels and hit them with a hair dryer. Fatman

    Craft Hair

You can buy the good stuff from Punisher Lures and here's a great article about using craft hair on jigs. http://www.punisherlures.com/component/page,shop.product_details/flypage,shop.flypage/product_id,78/category_id,85/option,com_virtuemart/itemid,78/ http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/bassmaster/columns/story?page=b_col_bt_lure_tech_0512 Fatman
  6. Nice paint jobs!!!! I really like the last one, would work really well up here on Lake Champlain Fatman
  7. Are you using collared jig heads??? I see alot of thread wrap near the living rubber tails and the chenile looks really big for that size head. If you have a lead collar cut some of them off down to the hook and extend the chenile for the body. Fatman

  10. I use a very long piece of lure forming wire and put a pot under the nozzle pull the handle and run the wire through the hole to clear it. Never really had a problem with the nozzle clogging doing this. Wear Very HEAVY gloves when doing this. Fatman
  11. Only problem with doing that with the Lee Production Pot is it tends to leak a bit when warming back up but it stops soon enough. Put a little pot under the nozzle to catch the drips
  12. Go with the OTT light they're one of the best. I was lucky didn't have to buy mine won it in the monthly drawing on Fly Anglers On Line.

  15. Sorry my reply above should have said Hagens only charges $1 more per item for less than required quantity
  16. for Orders less than minimum it costs an extra dollar per item. Not that bad. I've never seen where an individual couldn't order from them, cause if that was the case they wouldn't even send you a catalouge.

  24. Man I wish I had a digital camera to take step by steps on how to do feather trebles and hair jigs. They really are easy to do but photo's are the best. If you can get Ken Oberechts book jig making he has a good section on tying bucktail jigs. I'll see if any of my buddies can take photo's. Fatman
