  1. The way i've been doing it is cutting my bait in half, as perfect as i can. Then taking my dremel tool and cutting out a cavity, on both halves, of equal size, make sure its long enough and deep enough that the BB's can move in all directions Add the BB's and epoxy the 2 halves together. Be careful when epoxying the 2 halves together not to get any glue in the cavity or the BB's could stick. This produces a good rattle, not as good as the BB's being in a metal/glass container though...

Vman, thanks for the link. Im gonna give that a shot on my next lure.

  2. I got home last night and carefully mixed another batch, making sure to use equal parts and mixed it really good. That was about 6:30 last night, i went down and checked it this morning around 7am and same thing, still kinda tacky. Im using 60 minute LocTite Epoxy from Lowes. Its not that old, i bought it less than a month ago. Last time i was at Lowes i didnt see any Devcon epoxy, i think i read on here that you can get Devcon at walmart, so im gonna stop by there tonight and pick some up.

  3. I just started making hard baits this past couple of weeks after reading so much about it on here. i started out making a simple Rat-L-Trap for ease, I painted it a few days ago with model enamel paint and let it dry over night the coated it with some epoxy i had from a previous project (not sure what brand, it was bought from Lowe's) Well, I've let it sit for 2 days now and the epoxy still hasn't cured its still somewhat sticky to the touch. Any ideas why this isn't setting and what i can do to fix it? Thanks in advance.

  4. i got an email from this guy on 7/28 also stating the same thing. I emailed him back and told him i'd be happy to ship him some lures if he could provide some documentation of who he was...he responded "send me your fax #", so i did and that was the last i've heard from him..He says he's an editor and is starting to write again, but looking at his grammer in the email, he doesnt look to be much of an editor. Here is a copy of the email he sent me:

    mr felderman

i am carson johntry that was on espn tv's outdoors tv magazine in the 80's with john fox

was an editor of fla bass magazine, us bass magazine, and american angler magazine

    am writing again

would you be so kind as to furnish a few samples

    thanks

I took off the phone # and address...BTW I called the work number he provided and it was a car dealership....

  5. Doing it yourself isnt bad. A quick google search on "HTML Tutorials" will help alot. HTML is pretty quick and easy to grasp. Zen Cart is pretty easy to get going also, you upload it to the site, run the installation page and its pretty much all done for you. You just have to go into the control panel and tweak things how you need. If you have any questions let me know, i'd be happy to help.

  6. Thanks for the link Pete. Im wondering about the economics of it $90 seems a little high compared to plaster, wich i can get for about $12 for 10lbs....If that stuff performs well, it would well be worth the price though. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    :Edit:

After looking at the site a little closer, doesnt look to bad, unfortunatly their out of the Vulc-A-Mold Tool which, i guess, you have to have

  7. I've been looking into this also. I've been using Plaster to make my molds but its messy and the molds dont tend to last long for me. I did a google search on RTV Rubber and found some distributors...however i havent been able to find out if it can handle molten lead....
