  1. I am happier the heck they made these new molds. I am new to pouring, And thought about modifying my molds, But was very spooked to do so. Now I don't have to Modify my molds:yay: -Chris
  2. The dude at Janns told me that there is gonna be another maker for the drop shot swivel, And if I remember right they are gonna be easier on our wallets. As of the quality, I am unsure. we will have to wait and see. I poured a few batches of the Finesse Drop shots and the swivels had no problems. Maybe try another batch to see that clears your problem up. -Chris
  3. Dude! I would buy a copy for sure. You did send me the emails and video, But having a hard copy for reference would be great. i am always down for adding things to help me out. I got a thick skull, So having these to read over and over again would be helpful to me. Good luck! -Chris
  4. Are you looking for something like this, but with a spout? http://www.barlowstackle.com/acb/showdetl.cfm?&DID=6&Product_ID=1528&CATID=59 I got this pot: http://www.barlowstackle.com/acb/showdetl.cfm?&DID=6&Product_ID=1525&CATID=59 It is the easiest to use, I love it. Another thing I would do is go to the local tackle shop and ask them who in the area pours. Contact them and ask them for what your looking for. I know a few guys in my area and when I needed something they were more then welcome to help me any way they could. -Chris
  5. I emailed Mustad and asked if they planned on making a red hook in the future, Here was the response: "Chris We thank you for taking the time to send this email. The demands for red hooks are unbelievable. The answer to your question is yes we do have plans to add the 32798 in red with in the next 6 months. We thank you for choosing Mustad. If you have any comments or questions please do not hesitate to send me an email. Regards Harry Simmons OEM Account Manager O. Mustad & Son USA" Sounds awesome. I know this is old news to some, but new to me and maybe some others. -Chris
  6. Thanks for the suggestions guys, I really appreciate it. -Chris
  7. Is it possible to reuse the hooks on badly poured jigs? If so, How do I go about removing the lead from the hook safely? I appreciate it very much. -Chris
  8. I got my Shake it mold this week. This was my first time pouring. I also got Lees 10lbs. production pot. Got the proper hooks, Made my first pour. What a disaster. A little bit better results on the second pour. Then I did some more research then found a few tips that helped out a whole lot. Like, preheating the mold before pouring. But I read a tip where it said to blacken the mold with a candle. Whats the use of this? My other problem is I cannot for the life of me pour a 1/16th oz head. It seems like the lead hardens before it reaches the bottom of the cavity, This is driving me nuts. can some one give me some pointers? I appreciate it very much. -Chris
  9. I plan on buying this mold: http://www.do-itmolds.com/prodmolds.aspx?c=234 And it says it accepts 604 & 32798 Hooks. But I cannot find any hooks in that size that are red. I would much rather use red hooks. So if any one knows where I can get red hooks in them sizes I would very much appreciate it. -Chris
  10. Yeah I am talking about the jig eye. I buy the jigs prepainted so I am unsure if they are Lacquer or Powder paint. It doesn't look like there is any kind of clear coat. Thanks for the response. yeah Willie I am making Chatter type baits. But I want that more professional look. I am thinking I am doing something wrong with the split ring pliers, I dunno. Thanks very much for the help. -Chris
  11. I am want to put split rings on some jigs, But everytime I do it the paint gets scratched off. I got a decent pair of split ring pliers. I think it looks a little unprofessional, I want more of a pro look from my baits. Can any one shed some light on this for me? I would greatly appreciated it. Thanks, -Chris
  12. Thank you very much. For the help. Now I am having trouble finding a reel Seat that is the same as the ones used on the Kistlers. I tried an various rod building sites, But I am unsure as to what they are named. If you could help a brother out again I would greatly appreciate it. -Chris
  13. Hi, I would like to replace a reel seat. There is nothing wrong with the seat, I would just like to replace it with a spit seat. How do I break the old reel seat loose? And what would be the best method of cleaning up the rod before replacing the seat? All Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, -Chris
