The most important thing with PVC is leaving enough room for the lead and then not interfere with my hardware.
On some of my baits Ive had to run the screw eye through the lead to get proper placement for hooks and joints. I just used screw eyes long enough to go though the lead and into the pvc

I use a 10 g epoxy to 8 g hardner ratio with D2t

I know they used to sell TU t-shirts .cuz i have a few worn out ones. Nobody knows if they still sell them?
-
How does one go about getting TUshirts?
-
I just super glued the 2 halfs together with the ribbon inside, then quickly squeeze together with a vise, some sections i pinned as well. I would prefer to use the kevlar stuff like the bass pro ones, but so far i cant find a local source.

its polyester ribbon from a lanyard, like camera strap material. it's strong enough, but i'll have to wait and see how it holds up

I had to try making some baits with the new joint style, I like the way they swim, but they are very time consuming to make by hand.
Heres what they look like in the poolShadBluegillChannel Cat -
I found a small 8 section swimbait that uses some kind of cloth or thin webbing to connect the sections. Could this be spectra/dyneema cloth or maybe a woven kevlar?
This photo is of a similar bait using the same material

Also, FYI, the pvc board doesn't hold screw eyes well.
I dont know what kind of pvc you are using, but the expanded pvc i use holds screw eyes so well that they will bend apart long before coming out. I made a test joint that held 100 lbs without any problem.

San Diego Plastics, up to 1" thick, different colors too

great bait, those fins are some of the best looking I've seen.
-
each bottle is 4.5 oz, combined they make a 9oz package
-
Heres where i would place the ballast weights
-
I've always used the .25 ml tubes from walmart, but recently i got some 9 oz bottles from a hobby shop and wow! its like a different product, it dries faster and it seems much clearer. I don't know, maybe its just a fresher batch than the walmart tubes. Maybe now walmart will restock with newer tubes since I cleaned out all the san diego county stores.

When deciding where to make my joints I use the 40/60 rule, which is the first section will be 40% of the baits entire length, and the remaing 60% can be divided up into two or three more sections, with the tail section being the shortest.
-
The head section is too short and the tail section is too long, make another joint in the middle of the tail section and it should be ok.
-
If I was gonna make this bait, this is where I would make my joints

You just jerk it like you would with a zara spook, only the trout has so much momentum that it keeps turning
-
I'm gonna go ahead and buy a big swimbait rig, then I'll have something to use for yellowtail fishing too.

i meant to ask you, how much does the catfish weigh and how much does that monster trout weigh?
The catfish in the video is 7" and weighs 2.3oz, the topwater cat that caught the fish is 4" and weighs 1/2oz, the trout is a whopping 14" and weighs 14.8oz, I'm just dieing to try it in the So Cal reservoirs, I only wish I had something to throw it with.
