  1. An elevated air hose can't act as a water trap because the moving air will push the moisture up the line. In my work, we use compressors on the ground and run hoses up 4-5 stories, and the moisture still spits out of the hoses and tools if the compressor hasn't been drained properly. I use an 8 gallon for airbrushing, and I have yet to put on a water trap. It's only a matter of time before moisture creeps into my line, so I better get on the ball. IT IS NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE TO CLEAR MOISTURE FROM A HOSE. You may get most of it, but once it's combined with dust and traces of oil (on oil-lubed compressors), it will continue to give you problems. Just buy another hose.
  2. Beautiful. I wish I could be that neat with a top coat. Mine seem to cover everything.

You either didn't mix it enough or didn't dispense equal amounts, which is easier than you think to do. Oddly enough, I mixed enough to coat three small lures. Two came out great, one never hardened....ALL FROM THE SAME PUDDLE OF EPOXY......weird.
  4. When I was a kid, my mother use to make casts of dogs and cats using a resin. They were often 5-6 inches thick, but I don't remember what type of resin it was. She would add pigments from translucent to completely opaque. Any idea what that was?
  5. I was just thinking of asking the same question. I was looking at casting from plaster, alumilite, 2-part foam, etc. So I thought I would bump this back up to the top.

Is that a photo finish? That thing looks like it could catch a fish or two.
  7. I have also been looking at some of those fish carving sites. There is some truely amazing stuff there. I have seen the scale work and I'm not sure if I have the patience for all that. Maybe one day.
  8. Any chance to hone those skills, right bama?

    Old Bait???

Man, I love old lures. Please tell me he's not going to repaint that beautiful thing. I would put it in a glass case and put it on my mantle. And no, I'm not being sarcastic.
  10. Model glue is good for those all-night lure making sessions......
  11. "So good it's been banned from tournaments".....That was a red flag for me.
  12. I got this one for $12 at Harbor Freight. I works great, but until I can score about 20 more bottles, the colors are a little tedious to change.
  13. Oh God, cheesehead, PLEASE don't get these guys started on beer.Budweiser select.I will not stand for beer talk on a lure-making forum.Budweiser select. And, I'm sure everyone else here feels the same.Budweiser select.Lets not turn this into a commercial for our favorite beer.Budweiser select. That would be really disgusting...
  14. Is that thing colored with yellow and orange TAPE??? I have never seen that before. Very original.
  15. Hey Husky, I think most of the people here are more "painters" than anything else. Some of them can do foil finishes, but not to the extent that you would need for this bait. The best foils I have seen here are by hazmail . You may try contacting him.
