  1. Yikes! I didnt mean to imply your stations are messy!!! Sorry, I ment they are all individual in design. Willy
  2. No, I was out of town for that event. But I love the Plastic Navy site. Spotties are a great sportfish. I fish em with light tackle and the fight is great. They love swimbaits, thats what started me into pouring baits, is the spotties rip em up, and I hate paying for them. So now I'm tring my hand at making them. These workshop photos are a good insight at how other guys set up their workstations. I for one have had no influences, and my setup reflects that (messy). I see that applies to most of us. There is always a good idea in every different persons approach. Thanks for the pics all. Willy

    10" Shakey Worms

Nice looking worms. I like that color. Could you share the mix? Willy
  4. Why it is indeed a spotty! Good eye Patrick. I tried to snap that photo with my phone while sitting in my kayak. When I return home with no fish my wife gets disgruntled. She dosen't value the catch-and-release as much as I. So a photo of a fish will let her know I was really fishing! HOwever I snapped that one to send to my fising buddy to torment him, as he was working. Heh. Willy
  5. Hey onesock, whats in the tupperware tubs? is that glitter? I was wondering if it was plastic you've already mixed and then remelt and pour later... Willy
  6. I've seen soft baits I think they're called "flukes," with what amounts to two 'lips' or flaps, on the bottom of the lure. What are they (the lips/flaps) for? Do you hide the hook in 'em? Or do they flap in the water? Forgive my ignorance. Willy
  7. I don't know much, I'm new to this...but I think the material is Vinyl Plastisol. But an internet search gave me no good information for this material. Look here for places on the internet in the US to order, but they don't say what the material is: http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/soft-plastic-lure-molds/ http://www.zeiners.com/mfsupplies.html http://ozarktackle.com/softplasticsuppliesindex.html Willy
  8. Pete, Great idea to cut off the tail and make my own. I tried that and it worked well. Still waiting on the rubber, but you're right, I just had to split my mold like a man. I thought it might crack, but not al all. They seperated fine, and exposed a really poor top half. The bottom half was great, but the top was really pitted and funky. I think i got vaseline on the grubs in the mold and it showed up on the top half pour of the pop.
  9. Yeah, they're so needy. I'm lucky to have a cool wife she's pretty supportive, thus far, but I haven't melted any rubber yet! I tried to make a 2 part, 2 grub mold tonight, but I couldn't get the tails to flatten out, so they look really wavy. And I still cant get the two halves to seperate. I used valseline on the first half. I think I just need to man up and pull 'em apart, and if they break apart... oh well.
  10. Yes sir, it is Willy from San Diego ala Plastic Navy. Thanks for the tip on this site rockylinx, it's a great resource. I'm really pumped to start pouring. I'm driving the wife crazy already and I dont even have rubber yet...lol! Thanks for the insight all. Willy
  11. Hey folks a newbie here... I see you all mention salt a lot, and often it seems in large quantities in your mixes.... Can anyone fill me in on the salt...why, how, when, how much? I know when I buy some worms they are salty on the outside. I fish salt water here in san diego. Also, I just made my first mold..pop. How can I seal it? Thanks all, great forum here...VERY informative, great attitudes. Willy
