i just bought some Devcon 2-ton epoxy and it is the kind with the Instant-Mix nozzle on it. i didnt really want this kind, i just wanted the regular kind that you mix w/ a stick. but the instant mix was all the hardware store had. anyway, are these instand mix nozzles re-usable? it seems like once you use them the epoxy will harden inside of them. it came with 2 nozzles. this is going to be a waste since im only going to make one bait which wont require the whole tube or even half the tube of epoxy.

hey guys ive been registered here for a long time but i only come on here when i get the urge to make a few lures every ones in a while. well i plan on buying some baits from the store and then photo finishing them in various patterns. i was gonna buy a bunch of devcon 2-ton for the clearcoat. im gonna need a lure turner too. i want a reallllllly cheap lure turner cuz i dont make alot of baits. what is a very cheap one (under $10 maybe?) that i could get and what stores could i find it in? thanks guys.

do you think anyone would be intersted in like making a deal where i could make a few blanks and sell them to someone for them to finish and stuff? do people do that?

HAHA THAS FUNNY CUZ ABOUT ALL IM GOOD FOR IS BUILDING THE BLANKS!!! PAST THAT, CUTTING THE LIP SLOT, MAKING THE LIP, INSTALLING HARDWARE, PUTTING A FINISH ON...I SCREW UP EVER STEP AFTERWARDS! BUT SINCE I MAKE THE BLANKS FROM SCRATCH, I CANT PRODUCE THE EXACT SAME ONE TWICE...DOESNT BOTHER ME AT ALL...ITS A SPECIAL QUALITY!

most of the focus on here seems to be about painting and clear coats and all that. what about the actual making of the bait? do you guys just buy blanks and paint them? or do you make the blank youre self? i make my own blanks from basswood and i grind them to shape on a dremel tool and then hand sand them till they are nice and shiny. tahst the part im good at, its finishing the bait taht im not so good at.

yeah i tie flies and i use it (or superglue) for headcement (hold the thread knot togehter). it works very well. but it seems whenever i use spray paint it gets all runny...even if i hold it 6-8" away. maybe its sucky paint...cuz it is pretty old.

the sally hansens stuff is a nail hardener that is supposed to protect the paint on youre nails and harden them at the same time.

hey im a super-beginner and i was wondering if you could paint the lure w/ nailpolish (im fairly good at hand painting w/ a brush so thats not a problem) and then give it like 5 coats of sally hansens hard as nails for a clear coat...do you think that would suffice?

i got a can of this boat finishing type polyurethane and could i use that to finish my lures? i had used epoxy twice before but im now out of epoxy and i wanted to know if that polyurethane would make a nice clear coat.

If I really mess up a lip slot (####eyed, slanted, too deep, not the right angle) is there any way i could fix it?
