    Plow Paint

    Beautiful man!
  2. Here's some pics of my paint booth, excuse my mess. The things holding the bait are actually springs, you got to scrape some paint every now and then but works great.
  3. Sorry drying clamps! I use the small metal clamps from harbor freight with the red plastic on the tips. They have a hole in the handles and I put a small screw through it and screw them into my dowel on my drying rack dowel.
  4. I built a paint booth and drilled 1 hole in each side parallel to each other. Then on one side I attached a big swivel and a 6in spring I got from lowes, on the other side I put a 8in dowel with a handle attached outside the booth for turning and on the other end of the dowel I attached another 6in spring. With the springs you can paint any size bait without any mod's. I use a zip tie on the dowel (outside the booth) to keep the dowel from slipping, you can slide it where you need it and It has never slipped. If you want a pic let me know.
  5. http://www.tackleunderground.com/forum/hard-baits/8917-lure-turner-rotater-2.html#post84504 here it is......
  6. My drying wheel cost about 3 bucks in scrap wood and dowel. Found an old microwave sitting at my neighbors garbage can and decided to be a garbage picker that day. I took out the carosel motor(2.5rpm) and put it on a dowel with clamps placed about ever 8in. cut a couple pieces of plywood to mount the motor too and to run the other end of the dowel through and wa'la......turning wheel. I'll send you a pick if you need one. posted one here a while back but cant find it right now.

  15. Does anyone know how to get epoxy off your keyboard? This post is getting so long I had to move my paint room into the house to keep up with it and got epoxy on my keyboard!!!!!!!! lol.........Sorry about using the E word.........
  16. That's what I figured. Im working on some swimbaits and holding off on clearcoating them until I get all the details down pat. Dont want the epoxy to get stiff on me.

    I QUIT!!!!!!!!!!!! AWESOME MAN!
  18. How do you know when your D2t epoxy is thinned enough? Do you just add the D. alcohol drop by drop? Is there a ratio?
  19. I think I see! just rotate it on its own axis. Gotch ya!
  20. My paint booth uses springs, one stationary and one connected to a dowel which goes through the wall of the paint booth and is connected to a handle which I can pull in and out for more or less tension. The painting isn't my problem, It's how to keep the baits joints from touching while its rotating on the drying wheel. I cant take it apart because its a repaint.
  21. Well great advice but this is a repaint not a homemade. Not really sure you can take it apart without destroying it. Ive done a lucky craft pointer before and they have quite a few joints but it didnt move enough to get the epoxy in the grooves. This one only has one joint and I know its going to flop on the drying wheel.
  22. Anyone have some techniques for drying a jointed swimbait? What's the best way to keep the epoxy from filling up the joints using d2t? Guess I need some kind of jig to keep it straight, just wanted to see what you all were doing........
