  1. Finally found a rotissiure motor. Got one at Lowes for $29.95. Made a wheel and used alligator clips. After everything was completed, I timed it and the rpm was 2 1/2 turns per minute. Is this going to work ok with Devcon2ton?
  2. I have the same problem and also for some crazy reason, white seems to get bubbles after I spray it on the plastic crankbait. No other color does this
  3. Hope everyone has safe traveling and a wonderful time with friends and family.
  4. Is there a place on the net that a guy could buy the wheel already made and ready to use?
  5. I have a 797 si and I love it. Just like mbreuning said, they are great. The 997 si has a lot bigger screen but also a bigger price. If you can swing it, go with the 997 because of the larger screen. You will be happy either way. Side image is awesome. You will see stumps and logs you did not know existed.
  6. Thanks for the replys. I have been using a real soft artist brush and cleaning it in a cup with alcohol, then I pour the alcohol out and put in some fresh and let my brush soak until I need to coat another bait. So far it has worked. But I was wondering about the other ways. I like the idea of throw away brushes. Buying them by the 100 or more. You guys are really good at this and I learn something new with every visit.
  7. I have heard that some apply devcon with "pop-cicle" sticks. How in the world do you do this? Won't the devcon be thick and globby and pile up on the bait?

  9. Rookie, we invented the airbrush here in Kentucky. We used a horseweed and a mouth full of 'backer. Blow it on your favorite lures and waa-laaa you have just changed the color. That is how Iwata got its name..I wata nother chew.
  10. I didn't know the epoxy would give that effect. I will try it between colors. Thanks
  11. I have seen some clearcoats that look like I could put my finger an inch deep in them. Beautiful deep finish. How in the world did they do that? It was not devon epoxy.

    Sexy Shad

What color is the sexy shad? Does anyone have a pic of it?
  13. maybe it is the way we retrieve the lure. I try to make it different in the retrieve. Sometimes when I crank it really slow the bass hit it. It doesn't seem to matter the color as much as the way we fish them. Also slow rolling a spinnerbait seems to make a difference. If I throw a crankbait (any color) into a school of shad I will try to make it look like the wounded one. This is where you have to stop it or make it go really slow and make it stand out. If there is a bass there he will bust it and not the shad.
  14. I like your idea a whole lot better than the mix I am using. I use the isopropyl to clean my small brush after applying 2ton epoxy to my crankbaits. Works great and gets it clean. So I will use the isopropyl in my airbrush also.
  15. I am a newbie to crankbait painting and have been reading a lot of posts on TU. You people have helped me more than I can put in words. I am taking the advice I read on here and applying it to learning how to paint crankbaits. Some of you are useing different ways to clean your airbrushes. My question is..can I use the vinigar and water about a 25-75 mixture to clean my airbrush?
