  1. I like the picture on their website. I'm going to try this powder. Regards, PSV
  2. My source of lead -Ebay. I don't do jigs for sale, only for myself and 2 fishing buddies. I need about 100 - 120 lb per year. Recently, I bought 2 lots: 20lb of hard lead and 35lb soft pure lead. I mixed 40/60% - perfect. The average price with shipping was about 1.15$ per lb. Regards, PSV
  3. HookUp, We tried with panfish blood. I didn't find too much difference. The key is presentation. Zigzag works the best.
  4. Ted, I have blades from Hagen's. Colorado in Silver & Gold. Indiana in Silver and Willow Blades in Silver. All blades are Pro (Premium) models. If you want , I can ship some samples for you. Just let me know. Regards, PSV

Nobody sell them at that time in my city. No Internet orders, no catalogs. We were lucky enough to have a friend in Moscow. He bought twisters and others plastics for us (made in China, of course). Now I send the lures and parts to my friend. The fishing stuff is really expensive there. We did spinners, jigs heads and this " porolon" fish. Even clevices I did by hand. What a pain!!! Below is the samples . The spinner is 14 years old and made in Russia by my fishing partner in 1994. Keep it as a memory of those great time.
  6. Oh well, back in 90 it was the hottest baits in Russia. Walleye's killer, as well as pike. Work in USA and Canada as well (tested). Lead head - below is the link from Do-It: Do-it Molds: Ear Ball Lure The best material to make - it's the foam from computers and hardwares packages (white and grey). Regards, PSV
  7. I'd like to say thank you to Steve (aka Elken). I ordered some swimbaits hooks from him. Great hooks! Super fast shipping. Thank you, again, Steve. Will order again Regards, PSV

    Crimping tools ???

Hey All, I was at Cabela's last Saturday. Checked Cabela's swager (made by American Fishing Wire in China). There was no Sea Striker Kit in the store (Hamburg, PA). So, I decide to buy Jinkai swager tool online (LedHed recomendation). Found it at tackledirect.com Jinkai SC-3 Crimping Tool 32$ seems fare price. I need more help, now about sleeves: 1. What is the best sleeves on the market ? 2. I'm going to buy Jinkai oval sleeves Size J (link below) to crimp 80# ( dia.032"/.810mm) Seagar Fluorocarbon leader. Jinkai J050 Sleeve Do I choose proper size ? I never did it before. Sorry, for stupid questions. Thank you, in advance. Regards, PSV

  11. I want to try to make pike/muskie leaders. Material: Sevenstrand and fluororocarbon. I did research and found 2 diferrent tools offered by Sevenstrand . First type: http://www.berkley-fishing.com/prod.php?k=79593&sk=48509&p=PURA-TOOL%20(1104433)#zoom-/dimg/823491eb714101f4b2026ae2750ad1f4.jpg Second type: http://www.berkley-fishing.com/prod.php?k=79595&sk=48509&p=PURHS-250%20(1104434) I'm confused, which one to choose. Price is no problem. Is it possible to crimp wire and fluorocarbon using one tool ? I'd like to hear your opinion and suggestions. Thank you, in advance. Regards, PSV

  15. John, Thank you. I ordered Do-IT Sparkie mold and plan to do the same.
  16. Stream Stalker, Did you modify the mold or just drill the whole on a jigs ?
  17. Don, check this link: http://www.thornebros.com/muskie/terminal_tackle/terminal_boggs.html
  18. Hey Don, I have both Hagen's and Boggs. They are great tools. Hagen's sells muskie kit which allows you to work with heavier wires (up to 0.51). Bogg's offers 2 models as well with 4 different head sizes. I use Hagen's for heavy stuff from 0.41 to 0.51. Bogg's for lighter wires (B head option). Hope it helps. Regards, PSV

    mortar?

My 2 cents: I tried to work with POP mold. Good material to do samples and try new ideas or if you need small quantity of jgs and don't want to invest . Not really good for production (20-30 pours and it was done). The finish of jigs wasn't bad too. I'm with Bruce about safety. It must be dry. I weighted about 2 weeks before I started to pour first time. Regards, PSV
  20. Hey Bronzefly, I'm about to start to make heavy spinnerbait as well. Here is what I found so far ( Thank you, guys): 1.Ball Bearing Swiwels - Worth (sold by Stamina and Ebay) http://www.staminainc.com/terminal_tackle/spinnerbait_swivel.html 2.Blades and Hooks from Hagen's. They accept small quantity orders and they don't ask for Federal Excise Tax registration number, though they will charge tax + 1$ for each items, if you order less then minimum. I still found that the final price was less expensive then prices from Netcraft and Barlow's . http://www.hagensfish.com/components.htm 3. Hooks and wire forms (up to o.62) - luremaking.com http://luremaking.com/catalogue/catalogue-index/catalogue-items/wires/musky_spinnebait_forms.htm That is my sources for a components. I hope it helps. regards, PSV
