  1. M-F Float additive works really well. Just be careful with exactly how much you use. I would double the dominant color of your bait when using the additive. Using too much will "dust" your plastic, the recommendation is 1 tablespoon per 4 ounces of plastic. I don't like real opaque baits, so I dry measure "sluff off" the top of the spoon. The link to the additive is here : M-F Float Additive It is a high float too, you will be able to see the eyes of the frog above the water after it is rigged. Good luck!
  2. 1 day late, but here is another helpful "cook book" that compliments this one well : http://www.del-mart.com/htmlfolder/colorpage.html

    Finished jerkbait

Cast-A-Nova = Catch-A-Fish Nice looking baits, glad to see the finished product. Again, look awesome!

    My new jerkbait.

Nova - As always...pours or molds, you do solid work. Send a pic of the FIN-ished product if/when you get a chance.
  5. Agree with you there SenkoSam. The 6" is the equivalent of a cigar, and the bait fishes well here in TX. Also a dream to cast. The 7" flat side model works alright too. And believe it or not if you go totally weightless and use plastic that floats with the 6" or 7" model, the action rivals that of a Zara spook with minimal effort of the rod.
  6. Congrats on the tourney...Did you kiss ol' toothy before letting her go?
  7. This thread made me laugh...Now I know where OneSock gets his "spotted" stick ideas... The hair one got me too...I picture a stick with a trump comb-over. The Mullet...All business in the front, party in the back...

    Black shad

Look great! Kinda like putting Orca on the hook Betcha they could catch a whale, again...nice job dude!
  9. Have to agree with OneSock, MF hands down. (and actually tried LCs Soft, but not Calhouns) Stock quality, shipping, and container quality were my main concerns as I buy in bulk. Thank the lord I live within 30 miles of MF, but if gas keeps going up...I may just have him ship it to me
  10. Great looking fish! Your pours are awesome too! Welcome back, though I bet your mind is still casting @ lilly pads
  11. Might try this glue made for soft plastic baits. No idea though on toughness / testing as I have not used this product myself. I recalled your post while window shopping. http://www.upnorthoutdoors.com/stamina/accessories/glue.html -Pep
  12. Hey guys, first post here. I read these forums quiet a bit, but never actually posted until now. I took all the color recipes from this thread and put them into a document (.html,.doc, and pdf) and compressed them so no one would have to scrape through the whole thread. This has saved me tremendous amounts of time (both trial and error on colors, etc...) and I hope to return the same to any one needing any combination or listing of colors/recipes. With all I have learned from the soft plastic guys on these boards, I had no choice but to "pay it forward" in return. MattL,Delw,ghost,al/saint, and preds....thanks tremendously for the knowledge you guys share to keep this sport and pastime going! -Pep
