I use it and it still hard packs,in my opinion Still the best plastic on the market,my opinion, tried them all but for my set up I use the saltv water and its great!!!doesnt take me long to mix it and its well worth it!!!

I don't believe so

Glue it with 2ton epoxy,I have many that I glued and it works fine, just make sure your clamp it real tight to make sure its true then put some epoxy on the outside across the crack, will keep it from breaking again

OP....wasn't debating on how fast or how many baits I can make...and to be honest I can care less. I just saw you post a very rosy picture of micro waves and Pyrex and how it is all so superior to other methods....when in fact its not when it comes to Health and Safety. Can you make awesome baits with a micro and Pyrex? ABSOLUTELY!!! but as with everything in life there are pros and cons. You are not the only person on TU.....this is a open social learning site and there are hundreds of user from teenagers to well....old farts and at all different experience levels....many of which are lurkers. No reason to take any kind of offensive to someone mentioning the well know Safety issues with your preferred method of pouring...wasn't bashing your method....just mentioning the other side of the rosy path for some lesser experienced TU members.
I never took any offense to your remarks,to each their own,Ive stated my facts as i experienced them so others Can have some info on another way instead of all the pricey systems out there,Like I said to each their own,I never tried to paint a pretty picture as you state,Thats your opinion,Love to hear other opinions,You can get burned by hot plastic with any pouring methods, truth is everyone needs to be cautious working around any hot plastic,im sure there is accidents with the bigger one or 2 color systems,Ive heard a few, when one does happen with the bigger pressure system I would think the damage to a person could be more severe, just the other side of the coin here

Poured 100s of thousands of baits with my pyrex and never had one shatter, not one and I pour many and I repeat many different color and flake combinations every day as we have hundreds of color and flake combinations we sell,i don't thing you can do that with any speed with your set up and go price 4 microwaves, been doing this set up for years with no problems, love the cost and speed, like anything one must be carefull!!!

Also the 1000 watt microwaves I purchased at walmart for 59.00 each so you do the math 250.00 for a heating system that will let you handle any production situation!!!Cant beat it!!!
-
I think that plastic is ok if you stir it half way through the heating process, remember the wattage of your mic has a lot to do with bubbles,I like the salt water as its stiffer and has all the additives full strength, but when I say stiffer its not hard like you would think, get a sample of it to try,I think you will be surpised
-
Oh and no bubbles with a 1000 watt microwave!!!
-
After countless plastic samples and trial and error I have found that Lurecraft saltwater plastic or jig plastic as they call it is the best,I get maximum reheats from it without yellowing or burning, have not even had to use stabilizer, yes it hard packs but it takes 2 minutes to to stir it,not a half hour like some people post on here,it has all the good stuff in it and is not as expensive as some plastics,I heat ot hot and often
-
I agree Frank,I just wish more people would come forward on this, and let the newbies know the mics are still king!!!So much is writin on the pots and injection systems and in my experience which is about 8 years doing this in a biz they don't even come close!!!
-
Just to ad the mics are 1000 watt each and I am heating 16 ounces of plastic but think I can heat 8 ounces in each and still pour more than your injection and pouring pots
-
Just wanted to Let everyone new to the lure pouring and some who may want the info,I have a Soft Plastic Lure Biz and am doing a Large volume of orders daily,i see all the request for info on the pots and injection systems but just wanted anyone who wants to know that I have 4 microwave ovens and sometimes have them going all at once and I think I can outpour your small pots and injection machines when it comes to different colors and floating and sinking plastic, maybe even one color, just want a lot of the newbies to know that mics are still a great way to heat plastic and you have the option to heat so many different colors in a short period of time,my store carries over 900 different color/flake combinations so the pots and injection systems will slow you down, not knocking any of your machines, just wanted to share my info

Just want to say im not knocking anyones products,Ive tested everything out there in the last 4 years we have been in business, for me I have 4 1000 watt microwaves and leave them on high, the best plastic I have found for that application is LURECRAFT Saltwater,I can leave the mic on high and get several reheats without any Yellowing,You have to deal with the hard pack but to me its worth it,this plastic has a lot of heat stabilizer in it,just thought I would mention it in case you like to leave the mic on high and save from yellowing, saves me a lot of time and trouble and I like the finished product as well! Oh and no Bubbles either
-
Its like anything else,if you do it long enough you know by looking and stirring, same with adding colors and glitter,I do it all by look and feel, poured tens of thousands of baits, practice does make perfect, well close anyway!!!
-
I have the same problem with Gold and.Silver from lurecraft, first batch is usually good,it all turns white with first reheat,I don't over heat the plastic either, those two colors from lurecraft do not stand up,all the other colors I get from them is fine!!!

Ive talked to a pten attorney,he can contact me and let me know about the possible infringement,it puts me on notice reguardless if im infringing or not,we did not sell many of the lures at all over the past year so we decided to just take them off the marker for now
here is the website www.basscoachlures.com

I've never heard of the owner of the patent contacting someone......It's usually a cease and desist letter for the attorney...what is the name of the lure?

Smallmouth,no need for attorney,I took them off the web,did not sell many anyway, just thought this would make an interesting post,Ill honor his patent!
-
Vodkaman,I agree but it describes a soft plastic floating popper but it has to have the cone shape protruding from the head portion I believe,im not good at reading through these patents
-
I agree with all of you,I just pulled my baits because I respect his patent,if you look up the patent its legit,he says he has a good lawyer but I asked him why he did not go after gman years ago and he said he did not want to,what do you guys think of this patent, check it out and post your thoughts, john, guys and gals keep in mind his patent is for a soft plastic floating popper bait with a cone shaped nose,I repeat soft plastic!
-
I also have that mold and sell that frog,it doesnt have the cone or cup shaped nose his patent describes
-
I recieved an email yesterday from a very nice gentelman who told me I was Infringing on his lure patent # 8020338 with my popper snake and popper worms, after reading the patent and all it covered he was correct and I took the baits off the site asap,I called him and had a long talk about his lure design and his patent, seems gman is one of a few larger companies he is going after with gmans popper frog, just wanted to post if anyone had a lure idea involving a floating soft plastic lure with the cone shaped nose that pops or spits water it has a patent, here I thought I had a great lure invention,It looks like the patent only covers floating lures.we still may do some buisiness together,I think its a great patent,it took him 3 years to get it approved.

Yes you can use it for night fishing,we use it all summer long, bring a small flashlite or a bright led, works great and glows for quite a while, you also need to put enough in the plastic for your fishing situation!
-
Mix it with your hot plastic and yes it needs to be in the sunlight, you can also charge it with a bright lite,Ive used it for years,I like its results and so do my customers!

Sounds like the plastic is too hot when you hit that mold first, let your plastic cool a bit before you shoot it
