  1. Does anyone on this site make the 1/8 oz guppy style spinnerbait heads? I am looking to buy a few. You can PM me if you have some true 1/8 oz heads for sale. Send pic if possible.
  2. Well I just took an old outdoor grill grate and layed across of the coleman stove and that part is fine. Just the expense of the small propane canister that I'm trying to get away from. Those turkey fryers at BPS are 43.00 delivered now.
  3. Has anyone ever set up a propane stove with a 20 lb propane tank for melting lead? I know the small canisters of propane are nearly 3 bucks apiece and was trying to get a more economical setup. What size fitting would you need to attach to the stove input and where would you get it? Or can you just get a fitting to adapt to where you screw in the small propane canisters?
  4. Someone asked how to get in touch with Ebay seller Junkateer Jerry. Ebay item number 350316099765 or call 419-562-1827
  5. The lead from Ebay seller Junkateer Jerry is excellent. Got 50 lbs of it this week. I got some sheet lead from a Metals Recycling place here last week and it sure needs alot of cleaning. Good and soft, but will need to be fluxed several times.
  6. What size and type of head were you looking for? Unpainted or painted. I do both. Hidden Head and guppy head with recessed eyes. Several of the guys on this site do.

  7. Thanks for the info. Does the red Sharpie stay on the hook good? If so, I'll try to find some.
  8. It's the hooks fading. Paint is fine.
  9. Sorry Ted I haven't been back on here in awhile. Nursed a back injury after I posted this question. I was talking about the Red Mustad 32608N hook fading sometimes after I cure the spinnerbaits in my oven. Thought maybe I just had a bad batch of hooks or something.
  10. I made the hidden head spinnerbaits from 1/4 oz to 1 oz. Would be glad to make you a few.
  11. Does anyone else have a problem with the red spinnerbait hooks fading after they are powder painted and cured in the oven? Seems like they always fade for me.
  12. Yes I normally order from him but you have to have an order of 5000 for custom sizes. I just got tired of cutting every wire.
  13. Does anyone know where I can get some custom spinnerbait wire forms made without having to buy 5000 at once? I like my wire 1 7/8" X 3.5" X .035 and also the same in .040.
  14. Well I'm not new to this powder painting. I have probably painted 2000 in the last couple of years. The only colors I have a problem with is the chartruse and green chartruse, so I think there is a pigment in the paint that makes it easier to run.
  15. Well I was doing 15 on this particular order. You have to keep reheating the head when using the paintbrush method, don't you?
  16. No I'm hanging them by the wire end. I have tried it both ways. First on the ultra minnow spinnerbait heads. I figured I had too much paint on the heads, but I am swishing them in a plastic bowl. I'm using the pro tec and also the netcraft paint.
  17. Does anyone here have any problems with the chartruse colors running after you bake them in the oven? The paint runs down on the hook about 50 percent of the time. I've had the same problem with green chartruse and yellow chartruse, but no other colors.

    Red Hooks

There's a blade dip, I believe it's called Spike's Blade Dip. Has anyone tried dipping the red hooks in it to give it a double coat? I wonder how that would work.

    Red Hooks

Does anyone on this forum use anything to dip your red hooks in to seal the paint so that it doesn't fade or chip as easily?
  20. Does anyone on this site make the Poison Tail 3/8 oz with a 4/0 EWG red hook and the Arky 3/8 double collared jig with 4/0 EWG hook? If so, email me at mango1@cablelynx.com with unpainted prices. About 10-15 of each. Or can trade for Hidden Head spinnerbait heads.
  21. Oh I tried everything with that mold. The spruee area is too large also and a pain to file down. I ended up having a custom mold made which is alot easier to use. Same style head, alot less hassle.
  22. Does anyone here use the larger Ultra Minnow Mold in 5/8, 3/4, and 1 oz? What I was wondering is do you have any problems with the pouring with it. I am inquiring for a friend of mine who is thinking about purchasing one. I have personally used the smaller one and had all kinds of problems with it and ended up cutting the vent lines in it. Does the larger mold have the same problem? Thanks
  23. I make the hidden head spinnerbait bodies. Painted or unpainted, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2. John mango1@cablelynx.com
  24. Are you talking about letting it burn off completely, form a black layer on the top, then stir the lead around several times and then scoop off the top?
  25. I didn't know know that you could fine fine tune the pour spout. I thought the flow was controlled by the flow control screw on the right, either turning it clockwise for less flow, and counterclockwise for more flow. As for fluxing my lead, I drop a few small wax pellets in it and stir it around a couple times and skim off the top.
