  1. Great idea Josh. I will have to try that. I think the material you are speaking of is cross stitch fabric. Not sure but I think that's it. David
  2. Diemai, those are some good looking hinges. As far as glueing them in, I sometimes use twisted wire hinges like the ones BobP makes. I also use the same technique he does to install them. I believe this method will work well for your hinges. I mix my epoxy and then use a small wire to work the epoxy into the holes until they are pretty well filled. I then insert the wires and position them the way I want them and let them set. This is done on one half at a time (insert hinge in one side one night, other side the next night). The way you have those hinges made with the legs bent double, Mark is correct (again) they will not pull out unless the wood fails. You are very creative. Keep up the good work. David
  3. WOW! Sure would like to see that thing swim. Bet it would be hard to keep the fish off while videoing it. David
  4. Awesome lookin' frogs. As for the mice, I pulled something exactly like one of those out of a trap this mornin'. Really nice work David
  5. Rick, again, congrats. That is one large shark! Your baits are gonna be hot. You da man. David
  6. Diemai, looks fabulous. Hope it swims as well as it looks. Hope the largest pike around also thinks it looks good. David
  7. Mike, I finished the mods last night, will try to pour this evening. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks again for the tips. David
  8. Nova, Thanks. That is just what I was looking for. Basseducer, Great tip, although I have seen that in past laminating posts, it is good to see it again. David
  9. Thanks, I have read most of the posts on laminates and already pour laminated worms. All I am looking for is advice on which molds would be best for laminated sticks. David
  10. I am going to get mold(s) and begin to pour some stiks. Of course I want some one color baits, but also want laminated baits. I am leaning towards Delw's two piece molds, but not sure how easy it will be to get laminated baits out of them. Would consider one piece mold, but like the completely round baits that come from two piece molds. I guess that I could buy a two piece alum. mold and make a one piece mold for the laminates. I sure would appreciate any advise and/or guidance. Thanks much. David
  11. "T" I really like the body shape you have. I, also would suggest that the first section should be the longest for the same reasons mentioned by Mark. I am anxious to see the progress on this bait. Looks like it has great potential. David
  12. Wow! It's all been said above, but just want to add my pat on the back too. Great job. You have come a long way. I think Mark is right, Iwata is gonna put a hit out on you. Keep up the great work David
  13. Rookie, glad to see ya on nere again. And for the record, you always sound like Yogi. Just not sure if it's Berra or bear. David
  14. George, you are the man . I probably never have thought to do that. And it's so simple. Thanks for the great advise. David
  15. Ed, coat the form with oil. I spray mine with cooking spray that has garlic in it, then wipe gently with a paper towel to remove excess oil. Too much oil and the plastic will slide off while you are dipping. Please don't ask me how I know this . The coating of oil will stay until you have made your last dip. The bait will slide off with no problems (or so we all hope). David
  16. Bojon, If you are interested in using a form like the one pictured above, I have several and would be glad to send you one to experiment with. If you are interested, e-mail me at captsully18@aol.com. You have been a big help to me and the least I can do is offer. David
  17. Rick, looks like you have done well with your baits. Congrats! David
  18. They say that patience is a virtue. Diemai, you are a very virtuous person! Good looking paint job. Are you sure you are not an artist? Keep up with the good work. David
  19. D2T works well over powder paint. I have also used Rod Bond from U-40 to glue eyes on. This stuff is best bonding epoxy I have found. David

Just want to add that I think that you have done a wonderful job so far, and I think that you have a success in your hands. Looks grand, and I am anxious to see the finished product. Hing Pins

Why go to bike store? do what I do, sneak around neighborhood with pair of linemans pliers and take one here, two there, and if I really don't like someone I'll take several. They never notice right off. Now don't really try this at home, I'm a trained professional. just joking, just joking, just joking David
  23. Top notch paint job. Looks real to me. David
