  1. Just a note to thank Bojon for his e-book. I waited a long time for this and the wait was well worth it. Both the DVD and e-book are filled with enough info that one cannot ask for more. You covered it all. Thanks David

    "Another Pullbait"

Sort of looks like the old Bayou Boogie. But the floating of this bait makes it sound as though it will be a killer. Very nice. David

    fatfingers flat shad

Very nice. If you hadn't said it was yours, I would have thought it was Fatfingers. David

    New pattern's

I love the pattern of the back. Nice work! David
  5. Glad to know I'm not the only one that shakes his 5 gal. jug. It is a really good way to work out, though. And must agree that between the shakin' and that dance thing, would make a great video. Maybe even earn 10,000 on America's Funniest Home Videos? David
  6. Great job. Now I have something else to add to my to do list. D@&$ but I wish hadn't seen these. Awesome David
  7. If you do get an incomplete joint, use some Mend-It to join both parts. Works for me. David
  8. Yep, these guys are right. I would like to add that the drill bit work better if you turn it by hand. It is a slow process but will not damage inside of rings, and this is important if that eye happens to be the line tie. Slow and easy is the way to go. Don't know how large your eyes are but if a round toothpick will fit snuggly place one in each eye while applying epoxy, then remove them when you are finished. Hope this helps. David
  9. Hey Rookie, I use Kilz all the time to prime my cranks and repaints. I use the water base kind, and NEVER had a problem. (Famous last words?) Seriously I have covered red, all kinds of metallic paint, etc. with no problems. Try it you'll like it. David
  10. Nice baits. That pike looks real to me. David
  11. Now don't say anything about "guns" of any type to Rook, iffn he was to get his hands on a label gun he would only shoot his eye out. An he needs boph hisn eyes to run dat sqwiril roster. David

    Personal best

This fish was 11.04 lbs, caught on a Pop - R on the morning of the 18th of Feb. on Lake Huites, Mexico.
  13. Gonna try once more to get pics posted. Been trying off and on since Dec. I'm as computer illerate as they come. Here are some cranks and one swimbait that ended up being a wake bait. Hope you like, actually I will be very happy if they post this time.

  16. So glad I could help. Good luck on your project. David
  17. Understand, I am definitely no expert, maybe one of them will jump in, I hope. I make several wooden baits and seal each one first thing. This is insurance against water gettin' in. My balsa baits get sealed with super glue. My other woods get sealed with Dick Nites. I have found that DN coating really soaks into the wood and provides a good seal without any build up. This is important to me as I make some jointed lures and build up is a real pain in the joints. (no pun intended ). However, I am guessing that you are mainly speaking of re-paints. I would definitely seal the bare wood that shows when hook hangers are removed, paint bait, coat with Dick Nites, replace hardware and go fishing. Hope this helps David
  18. I hope the same. We can only keep trying. Thought about going the Imron route so I could inhale all those fumes Rookie does and maybe then I could be as good, But not at all sure I'm man enough to handle the buzz. David
  19. 6 feet, that is one mean cooking crappie. I still think Dean is in lead, tho yours ain't bad by any means. And Tater.......... well he's just a rookie. David
  20. Vodkaman, sorry, I failed to note that mixture of Alumilite was 1 part A, 1 part B, and 2 parts microballoons. David
  21. Good job. Like others have said, you will really like the Iwata and your work will improve just with the quality airbrush. Keep at it. Painting is hardest part of process - for me, anyway. David
  22. OK, here goes. I hope this is somewhat close to what you are looking for. Last night I poured some lure bodies and tried to get measurements you asked for. Hope this helps. Alumilite body @ 16.1 grams needed 8.4 grams of lead to suspend. It suspended approx. 3 inches from the bottom of a 24 inch bucked filled with cold water. WOW, that is the most scientific I have been since I was in high school (early '60s). What an experience. Should this not be what you are looking for, I apologize. Please give me an E for effort. David
  23. You may want to check out Harbor Freight. I bought a diaphram compressor from them that is very quiet. I paint late at night and I can't hardly hear it run. Think I paid about 100 bucks, and it even came with a cheap airbrush. Has been very dependable. Also, it has a moisture trap. David
  24. You deffinitely have it on the right track. Good looking baits. Keep up the work, and welcome to the addiction. David
