417, I pour my jigs with the weedgaurd cast in. I use powder paints. I cut aluminum foil the length of the weedgaurd an 1&5/8" by 2"wide. Then i take a pen & wrap the foil around it like rolling a cigarette, place the foil over the weedgaurd, shape it so its snug, (but dont twist the foil or it will twist the fibers, if you bake them they'll stay that way). And leave a little gap above the bottom foil edge and the jig head. After i wrap the foil, I heat the jig @ 250-265 in a toaster oven for 20-25min. then dip it in paint, tap of the excess powder, hang em in the oven and bake em same temp as b4 for 3o minutes. When there done, pull the foil off and your weedgaurds good as long as you didn't get it tooo HOT. Should have a great paintjob and weedgaurd.

Thanks Guys! I'll check this stuff out and see what happens. Can you die the hair with rits or a hair die to a brown? Then I could just do that with some of the black hair I have. KcKid

Help!!! I'm finally turning to the Underground for Help. I'm trying to find Brown bear hair. Hair thats brown not black. I have ordered brown bear hair from 3 places including Bass Pro and Barlows and every peice I get is BLACK! I want BROWN. I have checked every where on the web and called other stores and can't seem to be able to find just what I'm looking for. So please guide me to the light if its possible.

Ryan, I have a few strands that stick and I just take a toothpick and run down between the strands its faster than your fingers.

Hi everyone! You have an awesome site that has any thing you could need! I live in northwest Ohio. Can't wait for spring. I love to bass fish. At the end of last year I started making my own jigs. I just started pouring my own jig heads last year. I just use the pins that come with my Do-It mold. They're tight after you pour them, I just use some plyers and pull or wiggle the pin out and its ready for my weedgaurd.
