  1. well i found some long 3/8 and 1/4 bolts and cut the hex end off flat. Grinder was not available so iI left em flat. Snowed in now so tomorrow ill Be working plastic up and trying em out.
  2. Just grabbed some long shoulder bolts gonna hut the hex end off and head to the grinder I'll post what I come up with.
  3. I've been searching through the forum using the search engine looking at information on dipping tubes. Found alot of good information but one thing i couldnt find is how guys are prepping their rods for dipping tubes. Do guys take em to the grinder and round an end off or leave them square? I'm going to try both ways just figured I'd ask the guys on here if they dont mind sharing their experience.
  4. Canny Creek would be the do it plastic he was mentioning i believe. I just ordered a gallon of it myself as I am starting off with injecting like you want to. I ordered the 2 oz injector from Del-Mart as well as their grub mold.
  5. Will do thats why I like this site its good for bouncing ideas off of everybody. I had already been thinking about taping holes off and trying it. I tried the tap method last night and it turned out ok I was having a hard time getting the paint to fall where i wanted lol. Maybe I was holding to far away from the bait. They still turned out like i wanted. Going to play with it some more as well.
  6. I was wondering about using a salt shaker filled with powder paint. If I want a chartruse spinnerbait with a black back. Dip in chartruse then have the salt shaker with black ready and use that. Not sure how well it will work i'm going to give it a try though.
  7. Glad to hear so many good words about the poison tail i just ordered the mold yesterday and enough supplies to make a hundred of em. Cant wait to try em out this year.
  8. Excuse my ignorance i had a question about this as well can you explain the tap method?
  9. lol after the tooth marks on the dudes leg and after the size of the teeth on that jaw they had dont worry i aint gonna get near the mouth lol
  10. Yeah werent those lures cool!! Its been run twice now so ill ruin it. lol That 24 inch rapala they made was awesome. Cool how they had the CNC machine there to make it perfect. I also liked the curly tail grub they made, though it needed some tuning lol. What about that replica of the musky the guy did from the jaw bone? I about lost it when i saw the size of that dude. Would love to fight one of those some time lol
  11. thats alot of fun to me. Ill go diving into the bargin bin at walmart and find something that looks like it might break and cause alot of trouble. Repaint it how i want it and tweak it and turn it into an awesome bait. You can come up with alot of ideas that way.
  12. Ive had the pot spit once and it was stupid. My respirator has the exhale vent right in the middle of my face. I had it on so long that i left it on when i was loading hooks. I didnt realize that some moisture had dropped out of that vent into the mold. When i went to pore it shot out of the mold. Luckily It went the other way instead of towards me. I take the mask off when loading hooks now. my table is away from where the pot is.
  13. Ok I am new to painting spinnerbaits, and am currently having a problem with putting a design on a smaller bait. I use testors model spray paint and i put my base color down and let it dry atleast a day. Then i try to mask with tape so that i can put a pattern over the base. When i do this the tape pulls the paint up with it. I am curious as to how you guys mask patterns off to paint on your spinner baits. I am willing to change paints if you guys have a better suggestion for a spray paint i can use. I am on a budget so something that can be found at farm and fleet or walmart would be awesome.
