  3. There are a couple things you must consider first off ..Is if i produce it can i get enough of it on the market? 2nd A patent is at least a minium of close to 6 to 10 grand and can take up to 6 months or longer and you will still get knockoff's but your att.can send letters of cease and distist. Then you will also have to figure just how much money your going to tie up getting enough baits out in the market and in inventory. Best advice i can give you is put a couple of the baits in a couple boxs and mail it to yourself and do Not open it. This will give you some rights to when you first produced the bait so if you show it to a large company they cannot steal your idea... Hope this helps Mo
  4. Well this is a subject that i know a little about since i have been in the label business now for 25 years. Also we have done work for many tackle companies over the years and let me be upfront i will help and give you guidence but i am not looking for business..lol One thing to remember when dealing with a graphic artist is they do not consider usually about the printing cost ..sure a picture of a Bass is pretty but you just jumped your job cost a bunch since you just made it a 4 color job minium.. A artist should give you a flat rate up front if you can tell them pretty close to the vision you have as well as cost.. Charging by the hour some will flat bend you over...Need any help let me know.. Mo
  5. I might be able to help with this ...I would look at this site will help you better understand what you are getting into.. http://www.cummingsdesign.com/bar_code.htm also once you have the prefix you can add your own last 5 digits to make your own codes to match up with as many products as you desire. I will check monday to see what program we are using to create bar codes at work "printing company" also make sure when you print a bar code the prefered method will be a thermal transfer printer since most dot matrix barcodes will not read or scan. any more questions contact me Mo
  6. Merry Christmas from Bama as well...May your lines get stretched and you have a few 20lb bags this year !! Mo
  7. Does anyone on hard to mix colors ever mix alot more than they need for that pour and then pour the rest in a way that you can remelt it down later? I have done it for a couple colors that i just don't want to spend the time doing it over and over and adjusting till i get the same color as before .. Mo
  8. Guys if you would like some help in what labels and headers should be costing you ..just drop me an email and i will be happy to tell you if your getting a descent deal or not .. Mo
  9. smallie some bags are screen printed but most high volume runs are done flexographic they print the plastic then seam the sides and then cut the bottm which seals it as well. ...What most guys need to remember is that plastic is petrolum based and with oil going crazy so do bag cost and trust me the plastic industry makes the most of it. Mo
  10. mike i am always glad to help someone .. especially since this might be the only subject on this board i might really know something about..lol If you need anymore help or suggestions i can give you a number thru a PM and you can contact me. I just have seen the good and the bad from the preprinted bags. Hope i have helped you some in this avenue. Mo
  11. mike ..let me ask you this are they silk screening them or flexo printing them? Can they print process work as well ? another thing to think about is ...Are you going to bag the same exact bait in all these bags ? what about if they are generic how will you label them to identify the product and also the bar code that so many stores will want. Also will they guarntee them not to fade or run from the oils in the worms..just some food for thought.. Mo
  12. Having been in the Printing business now for over 25 years this subject i am actually somewhat well versed. First off for most printed bags as stated you will have to order a huge quanity also the plate charges and ect. Not to mention that the plastic prices are for the most part only good for 30 days and i suspect they will drop that to 10 soon... Our company use print labels and headers for many companys in the business.. If you have any questions ask away and i will be glad to help where i can. Mo
  13. I have a certain color that i would like but do not want it produced for the masses so to speak . thanks in advance Mo
  14. Might check staminainc.com i know they have clear and also clear with silver flake buzz bait blades. Mo
  15. We own a Printing company that has a division that does digital printing and was wondering how i could use the equipment to help with my lure building. I can use the ink on the holographic vinyl and it will hold up outdoors for 3 yrs with no protection. Not trying to get into the eye business just thought i might work out some trades since i would like a couple cranks and jerk baits painted like a old discoutinued badit i have. Mo
