  1. If you were to sell online which would you prefer..........Amazon or E-Bay. I have sold on e-Bay before. Just wondering about Amazon. Wayne
  2. One question; When you pour a crank with or with out lip in a vac-master mold is it hard to remove the lure, I would like to make as many as I need for a production run lets say I need a hundred lures I would make four molds of same to increase production. With the silicone molds using foam it just deforms the lure, I can see since the vac-master 50 is stiff to hold the foam in place is this true as I see it. I would like to go over to foam but the resin is working ok for me now but I am always trying to improve and make less costly. I will have to look into this, Thanks for the information Wayne
  3. Has anyone ever made a mold with a lip slot in it. I am about to make a mold with the lip slot in it, I know what angle I want, I am just wondering how the slot will hold up in the mold. I also would consider putting the lip in when I pour the resin into the mold, This is for a musky lure 8" long and a 2" lip by 3/16" thick. I would like to have a aluminum mold made but too costly unless there is somebody that could make one for a few hundred bucks!! I know just asking! Any suggestions would help. Thanks guys Wayne
  4. Thanks Mark I guess I will find out . They should go OK I will just sell them at a flea market in August and keep a few for myself. Wayne
  5. Since I am forced to paint my lips on some lures (15 to be exact) I am just wondering how they hold up for you. I am thinking of triple dip the lip in KBS so they hold up better, might change the wobble. Wayne
  6. It looks like I will have to paint the lips along with the rest of the lure. Wayne
  7. I received some unpainted lures and when I dipped in asscetone wash they turned white, some where I read here but can not find in search it is a certain type of plastic. Raven
  8. I will also try that clay I will be making one soon. Wayne

    Bubbles

I just wonder if you are using too much micro balloons it seem 33% is a little bit to me, I would believe that it would be to thick and movement around a wire makes worse. One thing you could try is mix resin in with the foam. for that you will have to come up with a new formula. Also try a vibrator plate when you are pouring. Wayne
  12. That I did not know but so far it is a failure I am switching back to clay now but I am not giving up just yet. I Will succeed. Wayne Will get back to you all thanks for the information. When I get the lure mold made I will pour one out of wax and go from there.
  13. Well to start with I really think it is faster with clay. waiting for wax to harden so I can place lure in it to stay in, just as it is still soft to push lure in it. I really think I an "CRAZY" Wayne
  14. FSHN2 YEP! Hope it works making box now, let you know. Wayne
  15. When making your mold has anyone ever used wax for one half of the mold instead of clay. If it works then all you have to do is melt out the wax and I hope to have a cleaner seam of the lure. What do you think or am I just "CRAZY" RAVEN
  16. Try this Clear image, Inc. I thin this is what you are looking for. I just got some from them or you can try Shelts Fishing Lures. wayne

    KBS

Try this before you start painting, dip your lure in accetone a few seconds and don't touch your lure with your fingers, or wear gloves till done with the final coating of KBS. Wayne
  19. That's a good question. Wayne
  20. Has anyone used this to make stencils for themselves. And how did it work for you? I seen this on you tube. Wayne
  21. Ayetti I don't think running your air from the compressor through PCV pipe is a good idea. You can run everything you have off that compressor. I run my airbrush from a 8 gal. compressor on my back porch through air hose down to my basement area for painting, with a regulator for the airbrushes that I use, much more quiet too. Good Luck Wayne
  22. If you don't mind the cost, then go to ebay and look up shrink tubing in the electrical sites and look for clear tubing, I have used it and its a little thicker but it shrinks all around the lure. Right to the profile of the lure. I took my lure and made what I wanted to cut out and placed it on the lure , you can either draw or paste then put the tube over the lure and shrink it then cut out what you want then cut the bottom of the tube and you have your stencil. You will have to get the right size of tube and play with it. Once you have what you want then its easy to slip on the next lure. Hope it works for you, you do want the sleeve to slip on with a little play then shrink. I do this on Musky lures I can't say about bass lures. Wayne
  23. If you put eyes on them, then the government can tie them to you.
  24. I have no problems with gas off. Wayne
  25. It worked for me just spray it light. It bonds to the plastic. For some reason the etching primer works best, and the brown helps in sanding the seams. Wayne
