  1. You really don't need thru wire just bend the ends, it will hold.
  2. If the adhesive dries up or the eye gets stiff I use my hair dryer on the eyes it softens them right, I do use 1/2" for musky lures but the smaller ones worked also.
  3. I also use a sanding sponge cleans it up nice you can use the sponge side or the fine sanding side.
  4. Thanks Hammer your input was great!!! I just started using or making resin baits, I make a 7.5" musky bait. The master for the mold is 1.8 ounces of cedar with a few coats of sealer on, the resin with micro balloons is 1.9 ounces without any sealer and will save me time on the steps in the making and sanding just to get it ready to paint. So in the long run its up to you wood vrs resin, I am turning towards resin for time and consistency reasons. So far the ones tested are OK I'm HAPPY!
  5. I have my compressor on the porch and ran a line to my airbrushing area in the basement and I don't hear a thing.
  6. If the cost is in a area of a buck a lure to coat then it might sell. If it holds up and not to brittle then I am ready to buy. Epoxy coatings keep going up and I can't afford a five gallons or more. It would be nice to get something that is consistent and easy to purchase. But the 3 to 4 hours sounds good. I will be watching for your information.
  7. Does anyone use tissue for their logos. Just wondering how it looks and does it show the edge.
  8. I was watching a TV show called THE PROFIT and the one owner was printing on Baseball bats and other items using a printer, has anyone ever seen one of these printers or used one. I would like to look into it for fishing lures. Ravenlures Wayne
  9. Has any of the Disk nite S81 been used on musky baits made of cedar or any made of a foam resin. I use Etex now but it is getting expensive. Raven
  10. Thanks JRammit Something to think about, have the pipe laying around. Raven
  11. Has anyone come up with a quick change holder for rubber molds. One that you would put mold in and it would hold it with slight pressure to keep from expanding from the foam. I am about to start making one but thought if someone came up with a good idea it just might save me some time or at least head me in the right direction Thanks for any input Ravenlures Wayne
  12. Since I make Musky baits I use only E-tex. I think if the builders would put their procedures down so they can be compared one might find what is going wrong or right, not how they build the bait but how they finish the bait. Just my two cents for what its worth.
  13. Why don't you get some balsa and carve your own then you will get hooked like the rest of us.
  14. How does the AC 1315 hold up on the lips after hitting the rocks does it start to peel.
  15. Try Lure Parts Online they spincast.
  16. Lure Prats Online have unpainted lures and some are made in the USA worth taking a look.
  17. What ever you choose to do do one move at a time or you will go crazy it might be to much angle also but keep playing around and wright it down keep notes.
  18. Where is the tow eye in the lip or in the nose of the lure. Had the same problem had the eye in the nose once I put in a wire in the lip about a 1/4" from the nose I had great results, I can troll the lure which is 10" with the lip at up to 10 mph with no blow out and it handles at 3.5 mph 100 ft of line out to 25' to 27' deep. This is a musky lure.
  19. boisarc Do you dip with the lips on and do they come out clear?

  23. You could try this www.eClamShell.com I get a good price but the UPS charge is hige since they are in CA and I am in WI. It still comes out a little cheaper. The closer you are to them the cheaper the UPS charge is.
  24. I think it would be helpfull if we stated what type of wood and size of lure you are talking about. Because we go from a small bass lure to a 10" musky lure.
