    two color tube

I think those look professional . Great work
  2. I have never tried it with the water but I have used the worm oil or softener from calhoun and add my colors to that. I do not think it is perfect but it will get you very close.
  3. Smart thinking on your part. Good luck with everything.
  4. Prochallenger You need to get hooked up with kajan and get him to make your pot station You will certainly have the room for it. Looks Nice can never have to much room.
  5. Those look like they should work Dave. They should move plenty water.

  7. drof99 Have you use any Hi-Lites with your pours lately? Almost sounds like maybe you have some Hi-Lites mixed in somewhere
  8. No the one you sent me did not have any holes in it. The Motor I am using is a 35 RPM motor and the paddle is the one made by Kajan. I have had small micro bubbles in my plastic since I started using the pot. I do not have now everything is clear as a bell since I went to different set up. Like I said earlier I do not know if it was motor speed or paddle but something was causing them. I use Calhoun Plastic and that is what I have been using . I have not changed my formulas at all.
  9. 1st off I doubt you get any laughs. As far as the mixer goes well I think you would be incorporating a lot of air bubbles into your plastic with that design. I currently run a presto pot that I bought from a fellow TU member. The stirring motor on that pot is a 50 rpm motor hooked to a 2 blade paddle( Guess that's a Paddle) . I find it incorporates more air bubbles than I would like. I have built several pots for other members since buying my first one and I have changed to a lower rpm motor and a 4 blade paddle. This seems to have eliminated most of my bubble problems for the most part. Now I have to find out if it was the motor speed, Paddle design, or what was causing it . Jigman if you are looking to spend around the 200.00 mark give or take a few bucks we can build a pot for pouring that works great for 2 cups up to 8 cups. The cleanup is easy and fast .
  10. Braveviper That is for you personally to decide. I myself say no it is not. On ebay unless you have something specific that people are looking for then you will just be 1 fish amongst many. Ebay is nothing more than a great big mall that is open to anyone to become a retailer. What will stand you out from the next guy that pours soft plastics? If you do not have that special something that people will come to you speciffacly for then I personally believe you are waisting your time. If you think you will sell a lot of common baits there for your asking price I again personally do not believe it will happen. The Fees Ebay charges now will eat your profit up very fast. If you look on ebay you will find hand pours for $1.29 for 15 baits Jig Trailers. I would rather give my baits away before I would sell anyone a bag of 15 baits for $1.29 . However that seller values his time at absolutely nothing or maybe even feels he should pay someone else for him to be able to work for them. Packaging, plastic, color, scent, salt, electricity, so on and so on all cost you money. Why pay them to make baits for them? Does not make good sense to me. There are way better avenus out there that may require a little more effort and maybe even a few dollars to advertise your baits but to me will give you a better customer base to be dealing with. Example........YourFavoriteFishingSite.com , Bass Clubs Web Site, Local store and yes you will probably have to put them in there on comission but it is cheap advertisment. Yea I know we all view this differently also but in my opnion I have this choice, Sit and wait for someone to say I want a bag of baits and only pour when they need me to, Or I can pour when I feel like it and can afford it to keep my interest in this hobby. Sure the baits you poured cost you money so did the bags and all the material you put into this but, it is smething you wanted to do. And you are doing it because you enjoy it sure it cost us money but what doesnt that we enjoy to do. Ebay if you have that special something something then absolutely it is a great place to market your product, If you do not have it and just a common fish in the sea, I would look for different avenues. Even for a hobbist to try to sell his baits on ebay I feel it is a waste of time. This is just one silly ole southern Boys opnion and we all know what they say bout those!! So take out of it what you like and leave the rest for someone else. Good Luck
  11. Tunadoctor For your first molds those look fantastic. Goes to prove a little reading on TU goes a long ways. Those almost look like some Louisiana h&h Cocahoe minnows. Great job
  12. Dinsane Glad you got one out without breaking it. I personally do nt bake mine but rather I let mine cure overnight then I put my sealer on them. I know of those that do bake them for a little while with the oven door open at a very low temp. If I remember correctly it was like 150 degrees for a couple of hours. That temp should not hurt the sticks in the mold. I Think Vodkaman mentioned something about baking them but monitoring the progress by weight of molds.Do a search for baking pop molds and see if you can find the post by Vodkaman Good Luck Those Look Great Dinsane!!
  13. Here is a picture that shows how I screwed the pot down to my Stand. I am not a photographer but maybe you can get the picture.
  14. I did secure mine with 1 1/4" deck screws. I just drilled a hole in the feet of the pot through my stand top and used deck screw from underneath to secure the pot. The only thing is the feel are a brittle plastic so I would not over tighten them. Works for me
  15. Prochallenger Here is a picture of 6 frogs that I just poured with a total of 6 cups poured in the presto pot. I poured down to last little bit and I see no color change on these baits or the others that were poured with the frogs. I have poured white several times with the pot and I have had no problems. That was using 1207 Calhoun plastic and LC white color. The Frogs came throughout the pour from start to in between and the end of pour.

  17. Del-Mart 2 Piece 4" Craw Tail Bug (2 cavity) . Mold is SOLD Thanks Guys
  18. Del's Candy Apple Red for Red Bug and Del's Marine Blue for my Sapphire Blue
  19. The presto pot can be bought at Walmart. Most of the ones talked about here are modified to have valve for pouring and a Stirring mechanism .These can be made very easily with a few instructions or you can do a stupid thing Like I did and pay 255.00 for one that is made by someone else. If you need some help with making one let me know.
  20. The pot pours great with either the one or two sided molds. I find it much easier to control the over pour with the pot versus the pyrex. I still use my pyrex for small jobs or when I am going to pour something with 2 colors, I use the pot for main color and pyrex for secondary color. The clean up on the pot is not terrible but it is not as fast as the pyrex. I am going to add another one of the Craftsman Benches and 2 more pots as I finish getting my molds. The pot is actually the Presto Pot and they are very simple to make I bought mine but was not the smartest thing I ever done. I have since made four others and they are very simple and you can build it for about $130.00. If you decide to build one let me know and I will help you as much as I can
  21. PigDestroyer I cheated a little bit but I went to Sears and bought a work station from them. If you are planning on staying relatively small this may be something you would want to check in to.It keeps everything I need handy has built in work light and built in power strip.Comes with Galvanized work surface which is very easy to maintain. They have several renditions to these that have more or less drawers and such.
