  6. Hello Gaboon1 Welcome to TU
  7. Thanks guys much appreciated. I will do that and will try the weight on the worms on my next one.
  8. That was the ticket Nova! I lessoned my catalyst and worked awesome. Now If I may ask one more question. After the mold was ready I poured a batch to see how they worked. They both came out fairly good . The detail was not messed up with the first one at all that I could see. The second one (5" Yum Dinger) came out perfect from what I can see. My only problem is it is like the slot that I pour into is not wide enough for the worm to come out of very easily Can they be opened up and if so what do you use for a guide to open them to?Do they need to be opened all the way to the side of the worm or do you want to leave what I would call a little shoulder or top to the opening? Sorry for asking so many questions But I have not sen a thread address that. Am I doing something wrong when I am pouring the resin or is this something you must address on each mold?
  9. That makes since, so how much less should I use than what the label says it said 48 drops to 4 oz of plastic i used 75 drops to almost 7oz of resin?
  10. I went to wally world and bought me some Bondo Resin and came home to make my 1st mold. I used a piece of tile like I read on here to use as my bottom. I then stole the kids legos and made my frame for my mold. Super Glued it down to tile. I got the baits I wanted to mold (GY Senkos) and washed them in soapy water.I dried them and spaced them in the mold form and glued them down also. I filled my mold with water and determined the amount of resin I needed to mix. 6 12 oz and mixed my resin. I poured my mold from the corner and everything looked great. Baits were covered with about 7/16 " resin. Upon dis assembly of my form , which was very easy it came right apart with very little effort I saw what I do think is a good outcome. All of the baits I used in the mold were a melted mess. They seem to have left good impressions in the resin with detail that I can see but it is all in the cavity's of the mold. I am going to try and get the remaining plastic out of the mold but I do not know if the mold will be any good or not yet. What did I do wrong or what could I do in the future for this not to happen again?
  11. pastor I think I bought a piece of junk microwave from wally world 38.99 and it has a rotary dial on it probably only 250 watts
  12. For those of you just starting and getting those tiny bubbles in your plastic if you are using a microwave do your self a favor..........melt your self 2 oz. with nothing in it and watch your plastic. I kept getting that unclear plastic and went to reading here and all I could figure out was it needed to cook longer. It took 7 minutes in my cheapo microwave to get it to clear up. I then added my color salt and glitter and perfecto clear as a bell. Now I feel like I am learning for a change

  20. Thanks Kajun I am on the north shore of lake Ponchatrain town called Ponchatoula. Looking forward to learning a new hobby.
  21. Well I am from SE La. And have had an interest in pouring my own soft plastics for a long time. Until now it has just been an intrest I have done a lot of reading from here and a few other places and felt like I was ready to start. I have made my first order from Del. I ordered a large color kit a gal. Of plastic a creature bait complete kit so that should more than be enough for me to get started. I also bought some other stuff from SCBassMan. I am sure I will have many questions but I have also learned to use the search function here. I will try to keep the questions to a minium. This is a very informative site and I am looking forward to learning from the experts here. David
