  1. We do not have any that Big!! We Have them up to 8" at bottom of the Curl on the tail. Nice Fish
  2. The injectors were designed for our molds. There is several people using them on others molds with success. I do want to caution you guys of a few things. 1st off DO NOT APPLY a lot of force. It is not needed and can cause you to get hot plastic on you. 2nd Do not use the injectors on molds that are not secured with a rigid locking device. 3rd do not use our injectors with the net craft molds. The injector will push the mold apart. Use common sense and they work very well. Any questions please contact me and I will answer your questions. Bear
  3. Actually Del there is a big restriction almost 35% . That is how the sprues just pull off. Kind of like the way a plastic model car kit comes where the plastic is big then small and you break the pieces off. Like I said I do not know why it works as it makes everything we have been told about pouring 2 piece molds in the past become some what not correct. You can pour it fast, you do not have to hit the center of the mold and it does not matter if the mold is hot or cold. Maybe this is just one design that works this way. May never happen again but this one works. And please do not take this wrong I am not knocking any body's molds or trying to make this one superior by any means. It just makes me scratch my head every time I pour this mold to as why it will work like this and so many others will not.You are way more experienced than I will ever be and my hats off to you for bringing this hobby to the point it is now. The only reason I posted in this thread is because this mold baffles me.
  4. Well I understand what you are saying but the problem is it will pour with a pyrex cup also. You do not have to put the nozzle into the sprue at all. It will pour as any hand pour mold will . The mold does not have to be hot and it will pour with Calhoun medium also. I have not tried it with the tube plastic I think that would be pushing it. Here is a video done by one of our members showing how it works. StickPour.flv video by bkeenom - Photobucket
  5. I agree all of the molds do not work the same. We adjust the sprues to fit the mold but I do not want to have to top off a mold if not needed. The one mold that puzzles me is this one. It has one sprue hole and was designed to use with our injector. This thing pours a perfect bait 99% of the time with no dents and no bubbles. Now It will NOT pour with Heavy Salt but 1/3 cup to 1 cup of plastic it works great. This mold goes against everything we have been doing. You can pour it with a presto pot with valve fully opened. The plastic runs down aluminum from start to finish and the mold will pour stone cold or hot as a fire cracker. If we could just get all of them to work this way life would be good.
  6. Some of the more common methods today are the Common Hot Plate and small metal pan. Or there is the heating pots. Lee pot , presto pot, or the sta warm pots to name a few.
  7. Happy Birthday Jerry. I hope you have a glorious day and many more to come.

  10. I am afraid I would have to burn the house down. One of them was to crawl on me while I was sleeping I would hurt myself!!
  11. That helps a lot Red.Just seems sometimes I get singled out. I enjoy being here but I also want my business to be successful . I do my best to contour to your rules. We try to help everyone we can regardless of if they spend a dime with us or not. I know this is forum to help new people learn and those of us that has been here learn. Part of learning is where you buy from and what you buy. So if people come here and ask where they can buy something from and others respond, then we should not be reprimanded for steering them in the right direction should we? I am not trying to stir no problems I just get people say man I mentioned something on TU about your pots or plastic and it got deleted. I did not see the post and did not know the reason why. Now I do. Thank you for clearing that up. You have a great site here that is why I pay to be here. But I also pay to support my business. So I am trying to do my best on both things. Thank you Red
  12. Yes sir we do use the blue hi-lite in the glimmer blue. I think it was 4 ounces of plastic 1 drop white and heavy Blue Hi-lite and black .040 glitter to taste
  13. I do not know where this belongs and I do not who all will get to read it but I would like to find out what is going on here. 1st off I have really enjoyed my time at TU. I have learned a lot started a new business and made some great friends. It seems that I keep breaking the rules here. I have read the rules and I do my best to abide by them. As most of you know I am Bear of Bears Baits. We are a paying advertiser here. I am also a paying member here. Just about any time that someone here mentions Me or my products the post either gets deleted or One King member here has to voice his opinion about their is to much Advertisement being put into the tackle making forum. " Yes Vodkaman I am referring to you.( I take it you are referring to the blatant sales pitch going on. This is starting to happen too much of late.) Dave" There was a post made from someone here looking for help here is what he asked..........please help, need to know what is needed to get started i want to make two sided baits and would like to sell but mostly just hobby injection or hand pour or what? WOULD LIKE TO MAKE SWEET BEAVERS WORMS AND SHAD I did reply to this gentleman and not 1 single time did I offer to sell him anything. I answered his questions as Bias as I could . Mtfishing Rods mentioned our new plastic letting the man know it was something that should serve him well.He did not fault anyone else s product or down any other advertiser here. Just a few post up the Board I saw you post this VM about another person looking for help. (I use a motorised fan venting full face mask. Not sure how good it would be for spraying, but for wood it is perfect. It keeps my face cool and dry in the tropical climate. With the half face mask, I was gurgling in a pool of sweat after 15 minutes. The cable and battery pack can be minor inconvenience, but a small price to pay for comfort. Also, I get to wear my regular spectacles. Dave) Why is it that you can recommend something on here and I cant or if anyone else mentions a product from Bears Baits this happens. What rules am I breaking or what rule did MTfishing break? I thought this was a help forum? Can you or one of the moderators maybe chime in here and give a reasonable answer to this post? I am sure this will probably get deleted also before anyone has a chance to read it. I have e-mailed the site owner and mods about this taking place and I do not even get a responce form them. Why not just answer this post where all can read it so maybe in the future it will prevent someone like myself or MTfishingrods from breaking rules we are unaware of.
  14. I agree Jim I have spoke to my suppliers and they all tell me the same thing. We suggest using our softener and hardener in our products only. They are not the same .They may work but I think each mixture will give you different results. We have 3 plastic suppliers now and will be having all 3 of there softener and hardener. The only thing they will all agree on is the DNIP (Worm Oil) is basically the same.
  15. Mike The denting was happening on the smooth part of the mold (Egg Sack) exact same place every time. The port on the mold was the same. All we did was turn the same mold upside down. They are a side port Injection . What this did was moved the vent to the top of the mold when shooting the mold this way, the vent stays clear until the plastic reaches it which now would be at the end of the fill instead of at the beginning. I think what it did was allow the gas and air to fully escape from the mold as it was shot. Before the vent would get filled and you still had open cavity to be filled. Thus making the air have to come back toward the injection port. We are going to try several more things to see what else we can come up with. I really like the injection as it allows us to make baits with much thinner appendages. The thin appendages have not been an issue with them b ut the larger part of the baits are where we are having problems. Larger portion more plastic , and more shrinkage. We will keep you guys informed on how it is progressing. Bear
  16. Mac Shoot me an e-mail and I will give you the info on the motors we use bear@bearsbaits.com
  17. Jdizzle Welcome aboard. To get started you will need several items, There are several suppliers on here that can supply your needs. 1st Liquid Plastic,Then you will need some colorants start with basic colors that you use on baits that you fish. Glitter if you want to use it. You will need a heat source for your plastic. That can be a microwave oven and Pyrex measuring cups or electric hot plates with pans or you can go with the melting pots. Some even have mixing motors on them to keep your glitter and additives suspended in your plastic. Then you will need at least one mold . Injection hand pour single sided or 2 sided will all be a matter of how much money you want to invest initially. One mold will be very slow and probably grow frustrating but it will also tell you if you are going to like it. If you are new to this I would recommend you start with small amounts to see if you want to continue, you can always add more supplies after you decide you want to continue. Do a lot of reading here this place has a world of knowledge available to you that will save you headaches time and money plus there is a lot of things to not do that people have posted for your safety and to keep you from making mistakes others have. Ask questions if you can not find your answer here using the search feature. There are plenty of guys waiting in the wings to give you support. Good Luck and Look us up if you need some help. Bear
  18. Jeremy No Dent Issue what so ever. To answer your question on what we are doing to avoid them ..............Beats the heck out of me. What is amazing about this mold is it is a 5 cavity mold with one sprue and a runner system inside mold. This mold will hand pour using 1/4 Cup of salt to 2 cups of plastic. This was done with medium plastic and pour wide open with our presto pot and never get a bad bait. The mold gets extremely HOT no dents no imperfections. The plastic is hitting a lot of aluminum in the runner system again no dents no imperfections and then after it is poured you do not have to cut the sprues off . They zip off like a zipper and look like they were cut every time. If a mold could ever be perfect this one is as close as they can come in my opinion. Super fast 7 seconds to hand pour 5 baits, nothing to unscrew or remove to hold closed. I wish all molds were as efficent as this one is.
  19. Pigdestroyer I can honestly say with the molds we have on the market we have not had 1 single dent issue. We have a 5 cavity Trick worm mold in 6" and 7 1/2 " that is an injected mold and the 7 1/2' will give you dents in the mold shooting them from the top of the mold. Now yesterday I tried an experiment with turning the mold upside down when I Injected it and then just flipping it back up right to cure. NO dents . I shot the mold 15 times and never got 1 single dent. With it shooting from the top you will get one or 2 worms that have dents every time. So do not let it scare you. it does not happen on very many molds.By The Way the 6" or 7 1/2" Trick worm molds are not on the market yet in case you think I contradicted myself. Once we get them right they will be released.
  20. Welcome aboard Jay There is plenty Brains to pick here and plenty knowledge amongst you. Good Luck and let us know if we can help.
  21. No Sir that is not safe to say. We only have a few colors that do not bleed. Most colors unless stated as non bleed will bleed. And yes sir that does still occur.
  22. Awesome Pike. I really enjoy using the so far. Someone mentioned the SS Cajun Injector syringe , We tried one and it is chrome plated copper that got very soft upon use. You could not get it cleaned. We left those alone. Pike We will keep you informed on any future updates we are doing as right not we do have a better mouse trap in the works. It is fun thinking outside of the box. If you have any pointers pleafe feel free to let me know. I am always open for suggestions.
  23. Pike We are actually making these to offer to our customers. As far as using a bicycle pump I would recommend you make sure you have a good pair of hot mill gloves and proper protection when you are doing your test. We had several failures and now have the injectors where they are as safe as they can be. If used with proper protection and common sense these work great. Ours have changeable high heat o-rings and will pretty much last forever. We have built these to use with our new line of molds and we have a lot of users using them on other molds that are difficult to pour. Let me know if I can help you. Bear
