  1. It does take some effort. Putting on dropshot weights is nothing compared to making them all day until your fingers turn black
  2. You are right about the low level of obsorption, but lead contamination is cumulative. The more you do it the more you get.
  3. When you wash your hand for the fist time after handling lead, wash with cold water. Hot water opens your pores and it can get into your system that way.
  4. Hagen's has them, here is a link. http://www.hagensfish.com/catalog/#/Hagens%202015%20Catalog/10
  5. I once saw a video of these guys making hundreds of tubes at one time. They had their containers with plastisol suspended in vats of boiling peanut oil. The oil kept the plastisol at the right dipping temp without it coming in direct contact with heat source. Can't remember where I saw it though. We gave a lot of discussion to this topic several years ago. I ended up with a six inch candle mold suspended in a Fry Daddy surrounded with coarse sand and veggie oil. Worked well for plastisol that was already heated to temp. Would not kick it over.
  6. Do a search for HAIR STACKER on LPO, they have a bunch of them.
  7. The one I had was a little two piece tube that was closed on one end. You cut your hair and stuff it into the tube. Bang it on the table a couple times and remove the top half of the tube exposing the hair. You take the hair out and the ends are perfectly straight, Then when you tie there are no long hairs to mess with.
  8. I had an adapter made by a local machine shop, but I sent them my existing adapter and gave them the changes.

    Bad One

Might have taken more time to take the pics and do the post than it would have firing up the pot.
  10. I remember an article in Bassmaster where Berkley they did some testing on scents. They found that the best scents were the water soluble scents because they actually disperse in the water leaving a scent trail. The oil bases scents would simply bead up and rise to the surface since oil and water don't mix. Yes they spread out on the surface leaving an oil slick, but did not mix in the water. This may have been tied into their Gulp line introduced at the time, but it makes sense.
  11. Do you think marijuana could be used as a scent? There is a guy selling some in the classifieds.
  12. I have a Hagen's and have had dies made to handle specific size wire instead of a range of sises..
  13. Ben, that looks good enough to eat.
  14. My business program does all that for me. Like Cadman I keep tabs in Plano boxes. As I buy new ones I add the amount to the appropriate item number in the program. Then as I sell a jig or spinnerbait/buzzbait the program subtracts all the components from inventory. I set the reminders to alert me when a components falls below the desired onhand level.
  15. You will also need to have a way to heat the jig. Would you want that inside the enclosed booth?
  16. That's right Devcon, make sure you use the 30 minute. It has a longer pot life and is waterproof. I don't remember where all I got them, I have four. TJ's tackle has a nice kit for a really good price. Here comes the technical part, I hope you can understand scientific talk and stuff. First I made a paint booth out of particle board, It has a screen in the rear and has a bathroom fan behind that. I spray into one corner where most of the over spray collects, the flyaway stuff as I call it gets sucked up by the fan. Now here is where it gets technical. What paint accumulates in the corner gets swept up with a brush and deposited into a funnel then gets dumped back into the air brush jar or back into the storage container. The bathroom fan does a fair job of sucking up the flyaway, but some gets away and lands around the shop and on me. To fix this I just purchased a small dust collector from Harbor Freight and will be setting it up in the next couple days. Hope this helps
  17. After I cure the powder in the oven I glue in the eyes and brush on a coat of D2T over the jig.
  18. Thanks, sorry these aren't brush jigs, but I didn't have any made up.
