  1. Sorry for the delay, what with all the Forth of Julying, Women's Soccering and the Nascaring and such. Well here we go.

    Swim Jigs

  3. I can do a brush jig with a white belly, pink cheeks and a green top. I can also add a red throat.
  4. I use a heat gun and a powder paint air brush. I can control which areas get a little more paint such as the belly and even if I get paint in the eye the coats are so thin it does not make a difference.
  5. If you have a local chrome shop, you can ask them to do your parts when they do other jobs. That might get you by cheap. Unless you are trying to do thousands.
  6. Have you thought of any of the chrome or aluminum colored powder Paints?
  7. You can find some good tutorials here and on youtube.

    Gauge

    .051 = 51 thousands of an inch.
  9. This is what I do. When forming the loop I bend the end of the wire past the plane of the main wire. Then I reach through the loop and pull the end back flush with the main wire. This closes the loop with tension. It has worked pretty well for me so far.
  10. Eagle Claw makes a E3014BP in a 60 degree wide gap. I have not used it yet. I am waiting for my current supply of Mustads to run out. Here is a link http://www.captainhookswarehouse.com/index.cfm?page=detail&hookid=1028&view=1
  11. I just picked one of those up in a package deal. Only mine doesn't have the ribs.
  12. It just might push it all down to the end or work just fine. Interested to learn the results.
  13. Mark, When I was pouring open molds, I would sprinkle salt or garlic powder in the mold before I poured it. Yes it adheres to the plastic, but the salt melts in the water leaving small pits much like cement that has rock salt embedded in the surface and then washed out. I have never tried it with injection.
  14. Smoking the mod is fine, I smoked all my molds before I started using the mold release. When you try the mold release you will be surprised how much of a difference it makes. Are you using a bottom pour or a ladle? I like to hold the mold right up against the nozzle of my pot. This hits the center of the gate and does not give the lead any time to start cooling before it hits the mold.
  15. Sounds like the collar isn't filling. the first thing I do is add a mold release (Drop Out) is the most popular here. I know that you preheat the hooks, and that is my next step. I lay the hooks in the mold and wave a mini torch over them for a few seconds, close the mold and pour. This usually solve my problem. You should get some more responses with some other methods.
  16. Welcome aboard Veto, 1. What mold are you pouring? 2. What part of the head is not pouring? 3. Are you using pure lead or scrap?
  17. Have you called them?
  18. Over spray isn't necessarily a bad thing. I just sweep it up with a brush and put it back into the container. I estimate that I recover 99.9% to use again.
  19. I spray mine with the powder paint gun.
  20. Depending on how dark you ant the blue. Fishingskirts.com has a Green Pumpkin/Sapphire tips. Here is a link http://fishingskirts.com/fishing-skirts-categories/skirt-making-material/firetip/521-green-pumpkin-blue-saphire-tips-876-detail
  21. I too have a Hagen's and really like it. I have tried some others and have come back to my Hagen's. The only drawback I have found with the Hagen's is the two upright pedestals that hold the loop twister get in the way when bending long wires on the lower bender. This is easily overcome, but it interrupts the flow. I have had additional dies mad to accommodate smaller wire and make tighter bends.
  22. LedHed, I have a Contenti top load and a gas fired 60 lb. furnace I might get rid of.
