    Fish Dope

Try some cherry flavored Chap Stick.
  2. David made some good observations. When I have a mold that does not pour around the collar, I put the hook in the mold and use a mini torch to heat the hook around the collar area, close and pour. A cold mold tens to spit a little as some condensation might form in the heated area.
  3. Try the plastic paint from Spike-it.
  4. Bassbull, Powder paint's durability is achieved by heat curing. If you just paint the jig and drop it on a concrete floor from about waist high it will chip. At that point it is brittle like glass. After heat curing it is far stronger. If dropped it, it will bend with the lead, so if the jig dents you will see the dent in the paint. I always heat cure all my powder painted items and unless you are adding eyes or some other stick-on you don't have to clear coat it.
  5. Bob would probably make one for you if you contacted him. He is an advertiser on this site.
  6. I think Bob La Londe may have made a mold for inserts. Maybe he will jump in here.
  7. Ray, I have noticed that thin worms up to 6" float a lot better with an oily scent on them.
  8. Mark Poulson uses nail polish a lot.Gets pretty hard, but I don't know how well it holds up to plastic.
  9. Seems like you can use most any paint you like as long as you clear coat it with Devcon 2 ton epoxy.
  10. I ordered a swimbait mold from Bob and it came with a new type of screw fastener. I tried using it, but it was too slow getting on and off. I sent it back and asked to have it converted to the old screw & wing nut. He fixed it and sent it right back no questions asked.
  11. If your mold is new, ask them if you can swap it out.
  12. And there has to be more than just one guy.
  13. Heating hooks has been mentioned and it works. I heat my hooks by putting them in the mold along with any other inserts and heating them with a mini torch. A few passes over the collar area, close the mold and pour. Solves my collar filling problems and you don't have to handle a hot hook. And you don't have to crack the mold.
  14. Is this what you are trying to achieve, but with a football head with a cross eye hook?
  15. You can also try putting the gate tight up against the nozzle, but if you do this make sure you have on long sleeves and gloves as the mold tends to spit.
  16. 100 pk of 12" Straight Stainless Steel .040 Wire Forms. was 18.00 reduced to 12.95 20 Left.
  17. You could test them all out and the ones that hunt you could call specials and price them higher.
  18. I saw a couple of days ago that fishingskirts.com has the heads with the open hook eye. They call them the Head Banger. However I just checked again and they are gone. You can still do a search for them and they still come up, but you can't click through to them. I believe if you call and ask for them they might still have some.
  19. There will be many responses to your question. I make my own pins for the 5/64 weedguards. I make them a bit bigger so that even if paint gets in the hole there is still enough room for the weedguard. For the 3/8 weedguards I simply ream the hole with a 3/8 drill bit after baking. On a side note, I spray my paint.
  20. These are the old style Fishingskirts.com Buzzbait frames. They are 3/8 oz. unpainted heads. They are 40 cents each plus 48 cents USPS First Class shipping. 100 available.
  21. Not only does it have to take the heat, it need to hold heat for the powder paint to stick. I think maybe JB weld and then you could sand it smooth.
  22. She meant to add it to the plastic before you heat it. You can also mix the colorant with raw plastic in a container and if you need more color put some of the mix in and heat until that cooks so on.
