  1. I put my pin punch in the drill chuck and press it down into the hook eye without turning the drill on. The drill press is only the means of holding everything.
  2. Apdriver, I do the same thing, but I set it up on a small drill press. I drilled right inro the table and the handel wheel gives me better control. I can also set the chuck depth so I dont over open them.
  3. David, I have never had such a problem or even a concern from customers. Having said that, I do have a couple of customers that don't want powder in the eye because it closes it too mich. For those guys I tape off the eye with green high temp tape befor I paint and don't get paint in the to begin with.
  4. Try lowering the cooking temp to 350. If that helps with the color, but you are worried about durability give it an extra five minutes.
  5. I would ask him how he wants it.
  6. I just use streight white pearl powder paint.
  7. I don't have much of a problem with my prestos. I usually put in 32 to 64 ounces of plastic and it is ready in about 30 minutes or so. I just use that time to lay out the molds and get everything else ready.
  8. His formula already has watermelon.
  9. Chris, I've seen some guys that use the wire for wiring houses. It is soft enough to form by habd, but still holds well. It is also soft enough to get it back from most snags.
  10. Mark, There is this stuff called "sugar flakes". It's like clear glitter. It does not have the weight as salt, butit will add a little weight. I don't remember where I got it, it was a long time ago.
  11. Mark, Try getting your salt right first and then color to taste.
  12. Ronald, as I remember it the vein color has to be very hot so that when you add the third layer the vein color gets pushed out to the sides. And you have to be quick so the vein color doesn't have a chance to cool.
  13. slamminjack, I found that I need to have a couple of fans blowing on the molds or it takes alot longer before I can de-mold. I don't have a really bad bug problem so I tend to pour plastics in the early morning or evening.with the garage door open. And I have a fan on me.
  14. Yes, powder water works very well also. I heat my jigs, spray them with powder and add the powder water accents before curing in the oven.
  15. Someone on here once posted that he uses createx paint over powder paint for small detail. I tried it with some painted on eyes and it worked great. I paint on my base coat and then add the createx details then cure. The createx becomes part of the molten powder and is very hard.
  16. These guys do all sorts of work on Do-It molds and more. http://pouritmoldservice.com/contact-us.html
  17. Yes, it works very well. you only need a tiny bit.
  18. Surprisingly they call it green pumpkin. You may have to ask for it as it is not on their site.
  19. gonfishn, Columbia Coatings added a very nice green pumpkin in last year or so. That's all I use now.
  20. I use teasponns for measuring out my colorant. I counted drops and came up with this rough ratio. 1/4 TSP = 25 Drops 1/2 TST = 50 Drps 1 TSP = 100 drops Then I just use the appropriate mumber of teaspoons or frations there of. for example - 64 oz. of plastic takes 2 Tsp of grren pumpkin.
  21. that will be Kayser Lure Corp. PO Box 68 Ursa Illinoid62376 217-964-2110
  22. Mumpy, I guess any of the wire formers will work. I have a Hagen's and I make that same loop with swivels attached.
  23. How about an insert for the mold like the ones on the injected hollow belly swimbait? You would have to have an injected frog mold.
  24. Ted, I get those kind of things from Mustang Wire. The prices are great, but there is a 10,000 minimum. I just got some screw-locs and they are purfect.
