  1. That should work as long as you are blocking the air from getting to it. You can even mix in a little colored paint to get a candy effect.
  2. Try Mustang Wire, they'll make them to order and in high quantities. http://mustangwire.com/' rel="external nofollow">
  3. Why not just shape the jig as you want it and use the Hilts Perfect Replica Mold? http://hiltsmolds.com/PerfectReplicaMold.htm
  4. Thanks guys, I figured that was the problem. I ran a batch of pure white no flake and it came out great.
  5. Have any of you guys had any occasions of silver glitter bleeding? I'm making some white baits with .035 silver glitter and after about 20 or so they start turning a little dingy. Not yellowing like they'er scorched, but the slightest bit greyish. I pour from a presto pot, ad my white to the cold plastic then flake goes in after it reaches pouring temp and the heat gets turned down to pour.
  6. Lets see if this works. http://www.tackleund...-poring-set-up/ That's pouring set-up.

  8. I'm having trouble posting a pic. Send me your email and i"ll send it to you. Then maybe I can figure this thing out.
  9. The Gamakatsu 604s work and they come in some really big sizes. I can get a 7/0 into the 1 oz. cavity. Then any of the Mustad 91715s in duratin will work.
  10. I make one, but I had to hack the heck out of my mold.
  11. I made a metal platform to hold two pots side by side. They slope forward with the help of aluminum tubing that replaces the feet. It is 3/4" in the back and 1/2" in the front. The platform is mounted to a trailer jack that is mounted to the table so I can raise or lower the pots to accommodate different height molds.

    D2t

Hey Guys, I just put up some D2T in the classifieds. Thanks
  15. Here is a link to the stuff I was using. http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/ss-lure-making-wire/311666.aspx
  16. Frank, I was getting the coils, cutting to length and straitening the wire. Yes there is a curve to it and a PITA if you are doing lots of them. I finally got a batch if straight wire forms, cut to length from Mustang Wire. Solved all my problems, down side, you have to buy 5000 pieces.
  17. OK, I get it now. Although it seems the more difficult way of doing things. I'll refer back to my earlier comments.
  18. I know some guys that fish live craws and they pinch one claw off to make it appear more vulnerable.
  19. If you are pouring into a one piece RTV mold from an opening at the top, how do you get the bait out? I'm confused. Can you post a pic?
  20. I don't think the fish will care if one is closer to the body or not. It may even be viewed as a weakness and draw more attention.
  21. Sounds like your on the right track. Try getting the thinnest stream of plastic that you can and pour right down the center of the gate. This allows the air to escape out of the gate as the plastic goes in. Maybe slow your pour a little as well.
  22. 8 new unopened packs of Devcon 30 minute epoxy (D2T) (SOLD)
  23. One thing that has not been mentioned is to wash your hands with cold water. Hot water opens your pores and can facilitate contamination. After the initial wash and rinse you can rewash and rinse with with warm or hat water.
  24. Jig Man, I don't use those cups, but I have had good results on other surfaces using tape like a lint remover.
  25. That would be a good question for Bear.
