  1. Tried to PM you, but it said that you can't receive new messages. I'm interested in the weights. Send me your email. tj@basseducerbaits.com Thanks
  2. I would agree with Reeves, the holes are there for ventilation so heat can escape.
  3. Dean, I usually dip the jig back into my pot being carefull not to dip past the eye. The lead melts off and leaves a burnt hollow paint shell. Have a rag handy to wipe off any residue from the hook, flux and you put the hook back into the mold and pour away. You can also go through the trouble to strip off the paint with some heavy duty paint stripper before you re-melt, but to me that is a waste of time if you have only a few to do. Hope this helps.
  4. Cadmn, Your link says it is a Mustad custom run hook.
  5. This is a four cavity mold of Del-Mart's "THING". It is a two piece full round aluminum mold. The mold is in excellent condition and the cavities are perfect. Here is a link to the mold info. http://www.del-mart.com/shop/product.php?productid=16855&cat=340&page=1 Mold retails for $215.00 plus shipping. I'll take the customary 10% off and pick-up the shipping and insurance. That makes it $193.50 to your door in the lower 48 states. Thanks
  6. If it is the 5/64" weedguard you can just pour your jig without anything in the weedguard space. At most you will have a little nub there which you can just snip off. In most cases it is not big enough to matter. Hoipe this helps.
  7. Yeah, that's the one. It still hurts.
  8. Mark, When I tried using instant it just clumped up and would not desolve. I read somewhere on here that someone got faverble results by boiling it in softener, but haven't tried it. I do put real ground coffe directly into my plastic and get great coffe baits. The only downside is that you can only make dark brown or black baits.
  9. Patrick, I would like one of the Bears 1.75" Twitchy Minnow - $70 ea if you still have any. Send me a paypal invoice to tj@basseducerbaits.com. Thanks
  10. bug11, I purchased a single cavity Arky mold form Hilts molds. I did not ask for a weedless mold and I got it without the weedguard hole cut all the way through. I was then able to drill out the rest of the hole to accept a 5/64" weedguard instead of the 1/8" as usual. You could drill out to any size you like. Hope this helps.
  11. Hey Mark, I use them all the time. The candy colors do make some really nice blades. I have not had any problem with Rosey's paint and the price is good too.
  12. GDillie, Hilts still shows them on there website. Here is a link. http://www.hiltsmolds.com/BulletSlipSinkerMolds.htm
  13. Try usplastics.com or uline.com I've seen them there. Don't know how the cost would fit in.
  14. Tee, I looked on Bear's site and could'nt find the twin tail. Can you give me a SKU or tell me where to look? Thanks
  15. I have a Del-Mart 10.5" two piece aluminum Trick Worm Mold. It is an 8 cavity mold in excellent condition. This mold lists for over $300.00 plus shipping. I am asking $275.00 shipped to the lower 48. This is a monster worm and just in time for all your Summer and night fishing.
  16. Brendan, I break off the spru most of the time which leaves a very small scar. To smooth the scar I took an old sewing machine motor and foot pedal. I mounted the motor to the bench and attached a saddle leather disc to the shaft. So I can step on the pedal and touch the jig to the spinning leather. The leather is strong enough to smooth the scar and remove any flash, but soft enough so it does not leave any tool marks. I can do several hundred in a relatively short time.
  17. Flatsrat, All great advice, I've tried it all to make good pours with these molds. I vent just a little differently. Instead of placing objects between the halves, I slightly enlarge the channel that the hook shank sits in. This allows the air to escape without any flashing on the body of the lure. You may get a little sliver of lead along the hook shank, but it is removed quite easily if you remove it at all.
  18. Good Job Fishingbuds, Those look really nice. The fun is just begining because it's something you can do together. Now just wait till you catch something on them, and it's back to the shop to make some more. This is also monething that will stay with him and be a link back to you. Again Good Job
  19. Harbor Freight has a 20 piece artist brush set for $1.99. They are different sizes if that matters. Here is a link. It says they made of goat hair. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=36956
  20. AK, I ordered some arky head molds from Hilts and they gave me the option of weedless or not. Maybe they will do the same for the football.
  21. Hilts has an egg sinker mold in those sizes that looks like it can be adapted to take wire inserts. here's the link. http://www.hiltsmolds.com/EggSinkerMolds.htm
  22. Don't waist your money. You will be better off getting a mold that already takes weedguards. It is easier to block the hole to pour without a weedguard than it is to constantly drill out holes. The lead constantly clogs the smaller bits. JMHO
