  1. Yes, Happy Birthday Dieter and many more.
  2. akjohno, First of all, forget anything you've read and RUN. No really welcome aboard and listen to these guys, they know what's what.
  3. Rosey's has several reds. I use the tool red and it looks pretty good for throat color. I think she still advertises here.
  4. Thanks for all the suggestions guys, but the West Coast Gathering was dreamed up to allow folks that could not make it to the MO Meet to get together out west. However it kind of withered on the vine for now. Maybe we can have better luck this year.
  5. Bobo, Just about any 28 - 30 degree hook will work. Mustad has a couple in round bend and EWG.
  6. Cidgrad, Just about any aberdeen hook will work, I have used Mustad 32756, Gamakatsu 604 and the like.
  7. bassnrandy, You can also try lowering the temp of your plastic. With a stick bait it is not necessary to have ultra hot plastic. Avoid getting it too cool as you will start getting tiny voids in the ribbs of the bait. Your salt and glitter will suspend better as well.
  8. Termite, Try slowing down the flow and fill the cavity a little slower. Sometimes this helps.
  9. Jigman2, The sprue is the result of pouring the mold. You fill the entire cavity (fill hole) to the top of the mold then when you de-mold the sprue is the part you cut off of the end of the bait. Hope this helps.
  10. Paul, Sounds like you may have to add a little soldering flux. I beleive that is what Diemai referred to as flow media. You can get it at most hardware or electrical stores. JMHO.
  11. Wooly, The Banana Jig is very good fos what it was designed. Also called a Grass Jig it does very well in the grass or thick weeds. The body is slimmer than an Arky, the hook eye is more foward and closer to the body. Because of this it tends to fall over in open water unless you keep it moving. Hope this helps.
  12. I agree with Jim, open up that gate to make it easier to hit the center of the hole with the plastic stream.
  13. Termite, I use high temp teflon tape over the eye before I dip and take it right after. The tape prevents any paint from getting on the eye at all. I figure a few seconds spent taping the eye up front equals a few seconds running wires throught the eye and chipping paint afterwards. The good part is that you don't have to worry about getting it all because there wasn't any paint on the eye to begin with. You will also find that if you drill the weedguard hole after you bake the paint won't chip. Works for me.
  14. Com'on dramone, spit it out.
  15. Jim, I use a 1/2" ball valve with the shortest connector available to get the valve as close to the pot (and the heat) as possible. Then on the out side I use 1/2" to 3/8" or 1/2" to 1/4" depending on how much flow I want. When it's cold like now I have to use a micro torch to heat the valve body until the plastic starts to flow. After that the hot plastic keeps it open. Be careful if you do this as the valve has a nylon washer inside and you can melt it with the torch. Hope this helps.
  16. Baitman, I mainly pour from a presto pot with a stirrer. It is easyer to just shoot into the pot and get an instant reading than stop the stirrer, insert the probe and waite for a reading. It works best for me.
  17. Tim, Just multiply the feet times 12 and that will give total inches. Then decide how long to cut the strips. I use two, 5" strips per jig of the narrow rubber. The rubber also comes in different widths depending on where you buy it. Hope this helps.
  18. Can you see the pattern? First a few crank baits, now plastics and pretty soon you'll be into wire baits. Then words like few and occasional cease to exist. Welcome aboard
  19. Baitman, I use one and really like it. I got mine from Harbor Freight.
  20. Like the Chief said, "We're going to need a bigger boat". What are these people thinking?
  21. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEAR. Combined gifts may not be so bad and certainly better than nothing. Many more.
  22. Termite, D2T comes in a 5 minute formula, but you can only get about 3-5 jigs done before it's unusable. Then you have to thin or remix.
  23. mifon, After curing I clean out the hole with the appropiate size drill bit and glue in the weedguard with a dab of D2T. I like to let them set for 24 hours before handling them. Some guys here use super glue gell and really like it, I have not tried it myself. Hope this helps.
  24. What size are they? If they are 1/0 or larger I'll take em.
