    Hookeyes

Zbass, Personally I use mostly 90 and 60 degree straight eye hooks. Mainly because the molds for the jigs I throw call for them. A few years ago when the flat eye hooks were all the rage I modified a few of my molds to accept them. Like Cadman, I aim to please the customer for the exact same reasons. Lately I have noticed that those same guys that wanted the flat eyes are now going back to the straight eye and the reasons are as varied as the colors available. Some of the new molds have the option for both styles and I do about 50/50 on the specialty heads.
  2. Mike, I would be interested in giving it a try. Maybe a pound or two to experiment with.
  3. Robert, You are just getting better and better all the time. Good Job
  4. SPAZ, Are you looking for football jigs with a flat bottom? All my footballs stand up after the initial fall and if you keep them moving. I think all jigs eventually fall over after a while from the weight of the trailer unless you have some floating plastic trailer.
  5. There is an add on the right side of this screen by one of our sponsors. Tight Line Anglers Products.
  6. Happy Birthday Reeves and keep on fishing.
  7. Inpact Poly Products makes them and they sell by the 1000. Here is a kink http://www.inpactpoly.com/fishingtackleluresbags.html
  8. Ed, I haven't thought of dying the salt, but I am thinking of using smoked or flavored salt. Maybe I'll pick some up this week. I just did a search for the stuff, Ouch that stuff is pricey especially the sea salt. Maybe I won't get some this week.
  9. Ed, That form makes the Basstrix style paddle tail minnow. It is supposed to be hollow. Usually dipped two or three times. You can look at any of the minnow swimbaits out there, every major manufacturer has one now. You can also get alot of info on Dels site del-mart.com
  10. outdooradvantage, Loco is right, there is no reason you can't reuse it. I save the leftovers from a run and use it the next time I run the same color. You can also mix it all together and add black coloring, black is black.
  11. Ghost, Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier, had to go do some of that fishing stuff. Cadman is right I got my tape from him, some type of high temp Teflon. Looks the same stuff I put on the heating element of my heat sealer. Yes it is tedious, but the eyes come out clean without the need to do anything further. To me it
  12. Happy Birthday from out west.
  13. Why not give them a call, they may have people (sources).
  14. Ghost, I just tape the eye and dip. I usually get a little powder on the screw closest to the head, but not enough to worry about.
  15. Fishnut1, I just posted this on another thread. You may not have to add all that extra stuff. Hope this helps. Here is what I do. I form the loop at the end of the wire with a wire bender or round nose pliers. Then I attach the split ring with the blade on it. Then I finish closing the loop with my pliers until the tip of the wire is to one side of the main wire and just breaking its plane. (It will look like you went too far). By going past the plane it creates tension to keep the loop closed when you do step 4. Then I take my needle nose and gently pull the tip into line with the main wire. Wiggle the end to make sure the tip does not pop back out to the side. If it pops to one side repeat step 4 until it stays aligned.
  16. Well let's see this 10" swimbait.
  17. Pedro, McClure, Pine Flat and THE DELTA. If this thing doesn't fly maybe it can turn into something like Trade-A-Trip.
  18. So that makes it only 2 people voting. COME ONNNNNNN
  19. Not at all Bass Whisperer, I think someone else is having this trouble as well. By going past the plane it creates tension to keep the loop closed when you do step 3. Then I take my needle nose and gently pull the tip into line with the main wire. Wiggle the end to make sure the tip does not pop back out to the side. If it pops to one side repeat step 3 until it stays aligned. This may sound confusing and I can take some pics of the process if needed.
  20. Come on guys, time is getting short and only 5 people have voted. Lets get some more activity and keep this thing rolling.
  21. Tally, Have you looked a Rosey's Powder Coating. She is one of our advertisers on TU. She has some nice colors and really good prices. I find that the paint works well in a fluid bed or when sprayed. Here is the link. Rosey's Powder Coating Hope this helps
  22. I can read the headlines now, "Rash of missing cats, only to return a few days later - Neutered"
