thanks guys, been using the search function like a pro now:wink:. this is probably a dumb question, but ive read some articles that say you need to add a weight in the belly of the bait, and some articles dont mention that. is it necessary?

hey guys, been reading this site for a good while now, but dont make any baits except pouring and tying my own jigs. im thinkin about getting into making some crankbaits and topwater plugs. could you guys give me an idea of what tools/materials i would need to start carving and making wooden crankbaits. also any tips would be GREATLY appreciated. thanks, LOZ

As far as why the tail doesnt have much action, id say just try a different swimbait. that one doesnt look like it has a very big tail which can make a difference

sorry guys, im new to this too...i searched smoking the mold and i didnt come up with much. all i got was to hold the cavity over a candle flame until it is black with soot. thats it?
