  1. I have heard it said that the paint scheme on a lure is more often to catch the fishermans eye than the fish.
  2. do the alligator clips hold the baits well?
  3. I think you could use a red neck test tank that being a plastic kiddy pool with a garden hose duct taped to one side would work great for ya... As for the picture of the test tank that bass4cache attached I think that if you dug up your back yard and cut a section out of your sewer line that would work too
  4. I am not an electrical engineer and have a question. I have found a motor but I have a question about it. The motor that I found is about 4.8 RPM/120v/60hz (US specs). Now the power here in Japan is 100v/50hz now how much will this effect the RPM's of the motor. I know it must effect it some but I am guessing that it should still be fine? Thanks for any information that you all might be able to give me with this.
  5. Hope my 5th one looks half as good as yours...great looking lures and it looks like the big mouths will eat that lure up....so you start off with a complete white body and start at the belly and work your way up?
  6. I can't wait to use my first lure to catch a fish or what ever else it may catch. Hopefully I will catch more than a buzz......
  7. I did find some paint here that is lacquer and when I did paint my first lure I used a 50/50 cut of paint and lacquer thinner was this right it did seem to come out a little thick...or should I use acetone to cut the paint? I am learning more and more with each passing day reading all the posts here...Man I love this site......

    My first one

This is my first attempt at painting...this lure had some issues and was a great learning experience...I have yet to find a top coat over here that I can use. There are issues with shipping HAZMAT stuff overseas....so I am still looking for certain items over here on the local economy....
  9. What kind of paint are you using? Water based, latex, acrylic, etc? Guess I should also ask what brand....thanks.....
  10. that looks like it would catch fish with out even hitting the water.....great looking bait.....love the little thread fin going down the back for effect.
  11. Again another fine bait from you....great work.....

    NICE LOOKING BAIT..........
  13. I have been reading the old posts to this question and wanted to know if anyone uses or has used a Epoxy fly dryer for hard baits to dry the epoxy I seen a few different types and the one by Orvis looks good it says that it dries quickly, neatly, and conveniently. It says that it is a 7 RPM Motor Torque and takes 2D size batteries. The size is 3" diameter by 6" high. I would only currently be working on a few baits at any one given time. Do you think that this may work for baits that are 3 1/2 - 4 1/2 inches long? Thanks.....
  14. Great looking lure Holder...did you do all the machine work yourself? you otta think about selling some....I am sure some people on this site would like to get their hands on something like that.
  15. Great looking lures...is it hard to get the foil right on the blue backs?
  16. Thanks I seen a booth that cost some where around 200.00 with 2 fans and 4 hookups for airduct and 2 filters (I think fiberglass and some other type filter). Again thanks for the information it helps out so very much.
  17. I think this is for in between paint colors when you go to discharge the remaining paint you spray it into this cleaning pot that has some water in the bottom of the jar with a small filter. So you need to clean your brush completly between color changes? or can you just shoot some water thru it if it's water based paint? or do you need to place some type of solvent in the brush? Thanks....
  18. I have a question on water based paints when spraying them is it ok to do so inside of a house? Do you need something like a Paint Spray Booth that would be a small one that I have seen like from PAASCHE I think it was like 30x16x30 with 2 fan units and filters? Does anyone use something like this or can one be constructed of say plywood with no fans being that it is water based paint and the fumes should not make you high. Also along these same lines which work better a table based vise or say a fly tying station to hold your lure for painting? Again thanks for the help.......
  19. Should the top coat be sprayed on or should it be dipped? if so what is the easiest stuff to start off with? if you dip do you need to have some kind of drying wheel to keep it from running? Thanks
  20. Are all of the Createx paints waterbased acrylic latex? I was told that the waterbased paints are the easiest to start with and have looked on line but can not tell if all Createx paints are waterbased. Thanks....
  21. Are these good to have to clean your brush? Thanks..

  23. Hi all, my name is Bruce and I have had the disease of fishing pox my entire life. I feel it all started when I was little more than 2 months old being carried down to the Florida Keys by my Mom and Dad for our summer vacations. I was born and raised in Ft. Myers, Florida which is what you would call South West Florida. I had access to lots of Fresh and Saltwater fishing (I do tend to favor more salt than fresh these days)
